PC spectres are mostly soloing, if at all.
Do spectres still play regularly?

Tried on PS3. I'm itchin to buy the new Xbox, but I want the price to go down. Also waiting for the new ME. I'll just bide my time. Spectre will be big when the new ME comes out though. I guarantee this.
OMG!! Nevarez!! How you been bro? The islands treating you good?

The old group was awesome. F the community.. it wasn't about the community. The group was founded for the sole purpose of playing games without pugs.. aka the community. IMO the group was at its best when Cold & Biggs ran it.. the challenges were kept in house, and much more demanding. When it became all about solos and duos is when I checked out.. this is a social game IMO.. if I wanted to play solo or with one other person, I'd play Dark Souls.
The obsession with Thunderdumb also helped ruin the group.
Now the game is 2 years old, everything that made the old group the "best" deteriorated.
It really isn't anybody elses opinion but our own, in what we think the group should be about currently.
and like I said, the old group only involved those within the group. The group that exists now branches out to non-Spectres, hopefully intriguing them into trying out our challenges with us and ultimately asking if they have what it takes to be a fellow Spectre.

Translation: Let us (Spectres) carry you (BSN pug) through something your not ready/equipped to do, so that we (Spectres) can pat ourselves on the back and you (BSN pug) can feel like you accomplished something.. but everyone knows we (Spectres) did all the heavy lifting.
If that doesn't sound like epeen stroking, I don't know what does.

I agree with most points but the Thunderdome had nothing to do with the group's downfall. If anything it highlighted what people were capable of (when it was considered hard). I think it went downhill wen it involved the bsn community as you've stated. The old group was awesome. F the community.. it wasn't about the community. As an outsider who's played this for 2 years, I remember the "good old" days when the Spectres just seemed like a bunch of elitist d*****bags who didn't give a **** about anyone who wasn't in their "clique." I personally like the new group much better. Still undoubtedly good, but also willing to reach out to the rest of the community.
That final paragraph resonates with me. Before, I didn't give a flying **** about joining Spectre. After playing more games with Max, Moby, Clyde, Dragon, and others, I really want to 1) See if I "have what it takes to be a fellow Spectre" and 2) Just be a bigger part of the community. I feel like becoming part of Spectre would help with that.

The reason I say that is because the original criteria for joining was being proficient with kits/weapons that weren't the most OP in the game. Then a Thunderdumb solo became acceptable criteria, but what do people solo Thunderdumb with? The most OP setup they can humanly assemble. It flies right in the face of the original criteria. It took the emphasis off being a well rounded player.. as long as you could solo thunderdumb with a TGI Harrier/Acolyte and Armored Compartments.

There is plenty wrong with your statement, but you are free to believe what you want Mega. The original intent of the group was to take some of the "best" players and start helping others build up, but certain people in the group took it as an ego boost and didn't want to play with the "common bsn'er". Sorry pal, but F what you think you know about why it was founded. ![]()
Of course, I bailed before there were really any challenges even since it happened fairly quickly. Never seen so many "big-heads" in a co-op game.

I still have the entire criteria Max sent me in a PM. Nowhere in it does it mention Thunderdumb, but it mentions that using OP kits and weapons is discouraged in the 6+ Platinum games you play with at least two Spectres. You're a little off in your evaluation of the admission criteria.

Epeen stroking.. the thing so many have claimed the original group was about. Nothing has changed.. just now, you don't want to be seen as epeen strokers, where as the original group didn't care about the community's perception.. they embraced the hatred.

That's not what I was told by Cold himself. IIRC.. you bailed bc you didn't like the way Ashen and Biggs treated the BSN community.
The 'help the community build up' group was Arelex IIRC since they took in all comers and gladly trained them up.

One criteria didn't replace the other.. but Thunderdumbing became an alternative. Chit.. IIRC Max himself got in bc he had 3 thunderdumbs under his belt.

When Cold and I talked about it he seemed fine with that idea, it was the reason I helped get in a ton of people like Heroic, Geek, etc.
I did bail in part due to how some people treated the community, but that is also the whole "ego" deal. Cold claimed he was getting that in check and invited me back more than a few times, but I never saw it which is why I was never interested in rejoining the group.

You can't control other people's behavior. What was he gonna do? Kick out Ashen and Biggs? Yeah right..
I'm going to go play some games now. I'll check this thread before I goto bed.
