Epeen stroking.. the thing so many have claimed the original group was about. Nothing has changed.. just now, you don't want to be seen as epeen strokers, where as the original group didn't care about the community's perception.. they embraced the hatred.

You can't control other people's behavior. What was he gonna do? Kick out Ashen and Biggs? Yeah right..

Why not kick them out if it is making the group look bad? I guess I come from a different breed where I try not to be a jerk to others, but instead help them out if I am better at something. I didn't need the whole "Oh look at me, I am a SPECTRE and therefore amazing, you should worship us" attitude that a lot of the group seemed to have.
As a leader you have to make tough decisions and he made his. That led me to mine and I am fine with it, but that old Spectre group had so much potential to do something good for the community and didn't. I much prefer the new way Max runs them.
As an outsider who's played this for 2 years, I remember the "good old" days when the Spectres just seemed like a bunch of elitist d*****bags who didn't give a **** about anyone who wasn't in their "clique." I personally like the new group much better. Still undoubtedly good, but also willing to reach out to the rest of the community.
That final paragraph resonates with me. Before, I didn't give a flying **** about joining Spectre. After playing more games with Max, Moby, Clyde, Dragon, and others, I really want to 1) See if I "have what it takes to be a fellow Spectre" and 2) Just be a bigger part of the community. I feel like becoming part of Spectre would help with that.

Within the group members behavior on the forums... Yes there's plenty of "accepted" epeen stroking that goes around. It's just not as blatantshow me evidence of epeen stroking within the group today.
