I agree, it's ridiculous that you can shoot and kill realistically, but a tasteful sex scene is just too much...please.
This. I couldn't agree more with this statement. If we can shoot people in the head, taunt people by putting a gun to someones head as well and watch someone getting the crap beaten out of them in a prison and more then we might as well have nudity in it. This game is M rated for a reason. I loved in the first one you got the sense of the being nude but you never actually see anything, it made it very romantic and very mature. Showing a frontal view of Miranda with a Victoria Secret bra, to me is more perverted and childish then seeing two figures nude and having excellent use of camera angels to further suggest such an intimate scene. From what I've seen so far and what I saw in Dragon Age, it again just seems more childish and immature and more pointed towards porn then anything else. Also if I romance Subject Zero and see her in a bra and under pants I'm going to nerd rage.
The thing is, the views on sex and violence really depends on which area of the world you're from. Over here in North America, violence is perfectly acceptable but you get in trouble for showing nudity. This is in contrast to places such as England where it's the exact opposite: Nudity is perfectly acceptable, but you get in trouble for showing violence.
I'm from Delaware, /wave. Thats why I hate our system, it's ****ing backwards. I guess as Americans we love our blood and gore and hope that our children become murders when they group up. One of the things that frustrates me about our country.

Well, that was censorship. They were removing stuff from a product, stuff which was deemed essential (or worth writing) by the original authors. But BioWare's work is not a transcript. Full nudity hasn't been "removed" from the game. They just wrote the stuff that way.Need I remind you of the oh so many Anime/Manga that were censored in this way in our land?
Sailor Moon? Ken il Guerriero (AKA Hokuto no Ken), City Hunter (they called Ryo "hunter"....WTH!?!?!?!), hell do you remember what they did to E' Quasi Magia Johnny??? they started cutting out scenes in which you would see a japanese ideogram on the screen (rather than putting a subtitle translation) because "the public would not understand" so a 30 minutes episoded turned out to be like 20.
Many people in here think M rated games should have full sex in it - actually it's not necessary. Violence, I repeat, is a powerful image which is essential to create the feeling of tension, suspence, whatever. Sex is not essential, it doesn't add any new information, in the purpose of storytelling, to what's happening. You could argue tho that this is not censorship UNLESS bioware wanted to put a full sex scene in it but someone at EA said "no"...which is not the case from what I understand.
It's clear that sex is happening in that video, what does it change if one sees it? What's important, and especially important in that specific relationship, was the exchange between the two characters - and something like that happens in real life too. It's not like "okay, let's have dramatic sex " and do that lousy movie stuff. There's always some exchange, some disclosure happening before actual sex happens, and that's what's really intimate, realistic and worth seeing in the story, and I repeat, that's besides my personal tastes.
By the way it's really sad to see that people are totally lacking imagination. If the scene cuts away from two clothed characters, they assume they're having clothed sex. That's just silly.

That's odd, I get the 404 with the confused blue monkey on my screen. Perhaps this is a sign!?!?!

You shouldn`t generalize. Maybe sex doesn`t add something to you and you need violence so you can feel anything in the action scenes but others maybe don`t need but want sex for the conclusion, to see more of the character and I don`t talk about skin, but behaviour. Lovelife is a part of a character. She or he can be strong in the outer but suddenly very soft if it comes to other topics, in example love and sex. It`s just a part of that. If you think sex is just in and out and can`t be used to show more and give something more deep, it`s not our fault.
As fanficy they made Tali there, it IS clear that this whole storyline you can follow is a big thing for her - important, perhaps moreso than with Ashley/Kaiden and Liara.

I wouldn't say it's backwards, it's just a cultural thing. I'm also a Norwegian and the views on sex and violence are just different, that's all. As a child, I remember seeing a farmer mercy killing one of his sheep with a gun on the evening news and watching a program where a guy went around reviewing **** houses in the middle of the day.

I hope you tali fans are happy. I mean jesus the amount of whining and complaining about haveing a sex option for every alien there is where it has very little importance to the story.

I await proof of that.
That being said, I find this romance PERFECT. Sure, it's a little "fanfic"-y, but it's undeniably adorable, sweet, sincere, and charming. It is pretty much exactly what ALL Tali fans have felt she'd act like. An inter-species romances with lots of complications and problems, but affection that transcends all that. The fact that a romance like that exists, and that it's difficult to do and maintain, makes it I think one of the most genuine and affective romances Bioware has done yet.
Sure, you can sex it up with SuZe or get dirty with Miranda or give in to Liara's charms or convince Ashley to spend the night... but this genuinely seems like Shepard winning Tali over. Over and over, she's going "I want YOU to be happy" and "YOU deserve someone"... and that makes her irresistable to me.
Tali, baby, honey... you're totally my one and only.
