Did you see 'the Desolation of Smaug'? Bards family in Esgaroth had Welsh accents for some reason and it sounded completely jarring and silly.
Also, Welsh accent is technically a British accent.
That's because the actors playing Bard's family weren't Welsh and were speaking with exaggerated/stereotypical Welsh accents (plus iirc, the boy sounded more Scottish). Only Bard himself was speaking with a genuine south Welsh accent (that wasn't a poor imitation of one) because the actor is Welsh.
