You mean this guy, right?
Wait...is he seriously the VA for the Inquisitor?!

No, but they sure do sound similar.
Oh hell yes my Qunari is gonna have a british accent!! =D
Since they've gone and made all elves Dalish, I'll have the different voice choices for the two races of protagonist I'll want to play as so this is mostly great?
So long as it's a good VA I am really not fussed about what their accent is. British and American is a pretty broad scale in terms of what the accent could be. But I'm guessing it'll be the generic one rather than any heavy regional one?
Although, if my local accent made it in. Then I would hands down play my inquisitor as that every time. It made my day to hear a character in Dark Souls 2 with it (Magerold). I love talking to that guy ![]()
I should probably note that my local accent is in no way sexy or appealing. But it would make the Inquisitor sound hilarious.
I'm pretty sure Mike mentioned that the narrator in this vid is the Inquisitor.
Yeah, that's crazy. Isn't that the same guy who voiced Malgus in Swtor?
I'm just not seeing how the two voices could span for four races. Dwarves don't sound like Qunari and Elves should be more high pitch than humans. I'm debating on hat voice to do for my first character. He will be a human warrior; I like the British accent but I'm more inclined to chose the American accent just out of curiosity.
The lack of french accent is disturbing.
I mean, it's set in Orlais, it would make sense to have a french accent for the main character.
I agree, if the elf or human Inquisitors are from Orlais, it would make more sense for them to have Orlesian accents. It would need to be the eccentric accents we have encountered, they could go for more of a common Orlesian accent.
Since we haven't heard the female voices and American male voice, let's speculate. I hope Alix Wilton Regan and Laura Bailey for the Female Inquisitor and Kenn Michael for the American male voice
People will fear the black Inquisitor!

They are probably going to be from Ferelden, if the surname of the human Inquisitor is any indication. Trevelyan is usually Cornish.
British is a very broad term as there are many types of 'British' accent's.
I hope the voice actors have a broad scope because I don't think I could take the game seriously if my Dalish Elf Inquisitor sounded like either nationality when the rest of her clan and other Dalish sound distinctly Welsh. Although, I now cant seem to dislodge the image of a Qunari voiced by TotalBiscuit. WTF is wrong me?!?
Haven't you heard? Your male Brit Inquisiter will have a welsh accent, meanwhile your female Brit Inquisiter will have a rough and tumble cockney accent that makes ears bleed just by how bad the actress is at vocal inflections. You'll spend 70+ hours begging for an end to your suffering, and as you struggle onward you continue to try and justify your poor choice in customizable voices. Then just when you give up hope crying out to your God begging him to end it, you'll see light at the end of the tunnel. A hope that it will be all over, only to realize that you still have 20 hours left to go, it's really exciting."British" is kinda broad...
Has anything more "specific" been said?
It's kinda funny hearing they will have a British accent, since I'm a native to the north of the uk, I can think of a dozen accents within my small part of the country, let alone the rest below me, it just seems too vague, and I doubt they'd go for any heavy/thick accents like a jordie accent (which changes depending on where you live anyway), since they may not be understood as easily by others.
From my perspective the same idea applies to the 'american accent', can't comment much else as I have never lived/been there.

Uh, I'm pretty sure it isn't. The voice of Malgus is the voice of the Architect/Thrask/Decimus in Dragon Age.
Saying that the character can have a British accent is about as meaningful to me as saying 'they will speak with words'.
I mean, Isabela, Merrill and Sebastian all had some variant of British accent in DA2. But I realise it probably means an English accent, likely fairly posh. As much as I liked femHawke's voice, hopefully it will be a bit less plummy than hers.
For an American female voice, I would love something similar to Velanna, Morinth, Jack or Bakara's accents. They have such lovely voices.
Did you see 'the Desolation of Smaug'? Bards family in Esgaroth had Welsh accents for some reason and it sounded completely jarring and silly.Disappointing that there'll be no french or welsh accents, would be more unique imo since most western games have lots of british & american accents.
