Where did they come from? Spain, all of them trying to imitate and force onto us that BBC accent. I mean it's hilarious (I decide to laugh at it) that I have linguistic or even english language history classes telling us all about the different accents, how everybody has their own, the differences and then in english class it's all about that BBC accent. It's even more fun when they tell you about studies saying that the BBC accent is dying and that outside the Queen herself or some people in the BBC practically no one speaks it.
So after many years you end up having a weird accent that no one properly place
Ahhhh right I see why your having issues with 'r' haha. I find it odd (and alarming) that their imitating you into one of the 'BBC' accents, I've met and work with a lot of Europeans, from Portugal to Poland, and they all speak with accents of their nationality, you can hear it straight off the bat, maybe its a Spanish thing.
Always interested to hear what foreign teachers say about English (always good for a few laughs). I've a southern RP accent (so its softer then the High RP accent of the nobles) so does most of the English that I know. I find it ironic that their teaching you that, as one of the complaints that pops up now and again from Northern England is that their losing their indigenous accents, that its being watered down by the BBC and London, a throwback from TV and the internet, that people (especially younger generations) are starting to speak with the same soft 'BBC' RP accent...
Anyway, back to the subject at hand. If BioWare could do a pitch moderation for the voices it would be really useful, for the males more then females, as I would want my Qunari or Dwarf Inquisitor to have a deep voice which would seem a bit odd on a Elf, I would prefer a lighter one, and vice versa. Would be useful, but I don't see them doing it.
