Platinum Cerberus Glacier. Wave 10 Hack in the science lab next to the LZ (just inside the lab, at the top of the stairs).

The hack is around 1/3 done. All 4 players are in the circle. Two banshees are coming up the stairs from the balcony. A pack of phantoms is approaching fast from the other direction. Atlases are sniping from both directions.

Assuming the team has a few missiles left, but cannot otherwise kill all the approaching enemies before they get into the hack circle, what should you do in this situation?

If you tough it out, it'll be a disaster - Banshees and Phantoms will get in amongst you. If you're quick enough, you may be able to scoot past the Phantoms, avoid the Atlas rockets, and get out of the circle to the basement. The other route (via the balcony) is blocked by an Atlas in the lower doorway.

Should you abandon the circle for a while and try to lure everything into the basement? If so, should all four players try to do that, or just one or two? If not, then what can be done? Also, if you try to kite to the basement, how do you avoid being cut off from any route back to the circle, given that the enemies' attack is two pronged?

Thanks

Get as many enemies into the hack circle as you can, then have someone fire a missile at the ground near the mob.

If you do have SOME rockets and an agro collector (i.e., juggernaut) you can try and tough it out till most enemies are in there and then nuke them, hope for the best.

It does depend on classes and coordination, too. A Paladin snap-freezing the hell out of everything and an engineer chain-overloading everything and a volus shield-boosting everything can help a lot - if people actually talk to each other.

If all else fails, though, trying to draw the enemies away and keeping them occupied while one or two squadmates get back in the circle is probably the best bet - that or everyone running around in a big circle.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this is why we try to save our rockets till the end.

Tough it out, then spam missiles at wave 11 spawns.

Go on N7.

I prefer to have all my missiles available for such an eventuality, so I guess my answer is keep nuking em.

Good luck trying to get PUGs to kite the enemy, especially on a small map like Glacier.

In that situation I would probably try to nuke one pack of enemies (Banshees or Phantoms) to create a breach and escape there. Make the enemies spread out and take them out one by one. Of course, I've never played Plat so have no idea if that's a viable tactics or not.

I think i would kite banshees and stay safe from atlas rockets and try to kill phantoms first. In the process try to lure as many enemies at the same place as possible and use a rocket. Maybe lure the banshees near the phantoms to this effect. If low on rockets and overwhelmed, go to the balcony, kite banshees until the atlas move and run to the basement to find a new position and pull some of them.
But chances are I would probably run erratically, scream and die a lot. It's always easier to devise a solution in theory than in the heat of action.

Dish out the cobra, hug the little corner where things cannot fire on you, wait for all the **** to be in the circle, fire cobra.

You can get outside the hack to get all those lovely ladies together for a one shot kill most I'd not all of them. Hold the steps right by lz until they group together. I would only missile early if someone got grabbed

Look carefully over your approaching enemies. You need to work out which one is the toughest, meanest, biggest s.o.b. of the bunch. When you've sorted that out, fix your gaze on that enemy. Right in the eyes. Walk right up to them, and beat the living snot out of them, in full view of the others.

After that, they'll respect you, and leave you alone.

It kinda depends on the makeup of the team....if you have casters or folks that can lay explosive mines, you can boobytrap those for the phantoms or if you have a juggy, he'll take most of the attention, and you guys can just unload on everything, but if there really is no mic or synergy, then it might be best for the team to kite.

One player can try to kite them, but that character may get a couple of enemies attention and that's about it...that's a tough scenario because it's such a small map and sometimes when you try to kite, some enemies will camp at that hack zone. Worst case scenario i would probably try to hold the line and get rid of those annoying phantoms over the banshees coming up the ramp...their hand blasters will make short work of teammates in a hurry and with 4 or 5 of them cloaking all around you, somebody is sure to get synced in the chaos.

After you missle them (the phantoms), you can kind of manage banshees since they really only shoot those powerballs and try to grab you...try to finish them off in a hurry before the atlas's make it up the ramp, since they are slow moving bosses....yes i know...easier said than done, but just trying to give some advice based on your scenario....

Nukem baby or if the hack is nearly done, you can disperse and reasamble somewhere where you can breathe and kite the crowd away while you return to the circle for those remaining few seconds.

Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, Dodge!

Seriously though, this is why missiles should be saved for when they're needed.

Kite the Banshee and Phantom together to the hack circle. Atlas missiles and shots can be avoided by hard cover. I'd pop thermal clip packs and deal with the Phantom first, then dance around the Banshee and Atlas. For that hack there will be a place that enemy can only attack you from one direction. Use survival packs as needed.

On Glacier, you ain't kiting nothing anywhere. Phantoms & Banshees are too fast, and Atlases WILL camp the hack if they get there.

When everything gets close enough, try to missile as many as you can. Try to only have one person using nukes at a time, because wasting missiles now could be the difference between getting paid and a wipe.
