I don't really see the problem if Cullen is a straight NPC romance

I see we've found our new "Mage/Templar" hot button issue for BSN, how lovely.

None of us know if we can romance Bull. None of us know if we can romance Varric. Straight people know they can romance Cullen/Cassandra as their own gender. Gay people do not. That seems unfair to me.
Nothing was said about gender attraction, you know. While we do know Cullen is attracted to women because of DAO mage origin. Cassandra doesn't really have anything beside 3rd party assumptions: a guy hit on her in DoTS and Varric thinking that she is into M!Hawke.
She could be into woman only for all we know (but I doubt it).
I didn't say s/he were. Why do you make that assuption?
Because you said they must get tired of people making demands. But as I look back now I notice you didn't quote anyone when you made that point, so if I took what you said out of context I apologise.
I'm addressing the comment saying if he's an NPC LI he'll be bisexual and not straight
But, he must be bi. ![]()

Well in Dawn of the Seeker she does the whole coy, almost blushing, sideways glances thing at Regalyan. It didn't seem one sided to me.
I think there's some pretty obvious cause for concern over the quality of the NPC romances when even the head writer of the game the NPC romance will be in said they thought NPC romances would be of lesser quality. It's hard to work around.
I'm assuming this is directed at me, so..
Both Cassandra and Cullen have shown interest in the opposite sex before and no interest in the same sex. Your argument is that despite knowing both characters are attracted to the opposite sex that for all we know they may suddenly decide that they are exclusively gay and this is reason enough for straight players to have the same doubts as gay players thus making it completely fair.
Really?
My post was referring to the whole thread, not anyone in particular.
People change, it happens in real life. Who's to say Cullen hasn't come out since his crush on the female mage warden? (Again I point out Kaidan, and Anders in fact). I've yet to see any evidence of Cass having any romantic feelings towards anyone. (Then again I haven't watched or read anything outside of the games so I'm going by what other people have said.)
Regardless, neither character has stated their orientation. Assumptions are being made.
So yes. Until something is confirmed by the writers, absolutely nothing is certain and it is all speculation. I don't see any point in getting worked up about it until something is actually confirmed.

Not necessarily. I'm not worried about quality, coming from the DA writers with whom I have been very pleased. I trust them to give every romance, NPC or otherwise, the amount of time and quality it deserves.

It was a response to a post two spaces above. I don't quote when I expect my post to be just next to the one I respond to. ![]()

The way I enjoy romances, I just don't think it's actually possible for me to enjoy an NPC romance as much. I like being able to take my romanced character on quests, hear their party banter, quest commentary, etc. It's just not the same experience for me always coming to base to talk to them. Even if they talked as much about the romance, their lesser presence in the game would make them less appealing, to me. Especially since they announced party banter would be interactive this time. It would especially suck to miss out on it now.
I guess it's just a preference thing, though.
Plus ME's problem was that they had too many romances to account for
What was the grand total again?

Both Kaidan and Anders ended up being bisexual. The point of the thread and my point regarding unfairness was that some people know and others don't. And I think it's a pretty big stretch to assume marketing would reveal two exclusively gay romances over two romances who are available to the majority of their players. So even if this is speculation, it's speculation founded on quite a lot of evidence that supports it as opposed to no evidence that supports the other side. As I said earlier I don't think they're doing anything technically wrong, but I don't think think it is fair.

Ah. No problem then, just a misunderstanding. ![]()

Most likely. LMAO at that list.

Ah ha! Thank you, I was trying to work that one out.
That's a scary long list, now what was the maximum for any single character to engage with in one playthrough?

I don't think so. I just don't see the resemblance even if you put them side by side.

I am in tears from how beautiful that was.

KILL IT. KILL IT WITH FIRE!
But back on topic, I have not a clue why so many romances were put into ME3.
Ah ha! Thank you, I was trying to work that one out.

I think you could probably squeeze three LIs if you went Liara, ME2 LI, then a new LI in ME3. Also you could have a casual sex with Jack option and still get any LI that wasn't her I believe.
Well excluding ME2's wham bam, dump trick where you could sleep with all three LIs in that game if you waited til after the SM to start their romance I believe.

I think a male Shep could have Liara in ME 1, Miranda or Tali in ME 2, casual sex with Kelly in ME 2, casual sex with Jack in ME 2 (I didn't know that until you just said it), then Ashley in ME 3, plus casual sex with Allers in ME 3. So, if that's correct, that would be 6 ladies over the course of 3 games.
Of course, I didn't fact this check before posting, so I might be off a bit.
