Is it Alistair or your Warden? Is it one of your other party members who have nothing to do with the Landsmeet? Do you suggest the dog everytime? Lol

I used to like using Morrigan because it simply amused me to watch her beat things up. >.< I would make her an arcane warrior on Casual Mode for no reason and have her get the last hit on the archdemon with Spellweaver just to watch the little animation lolz.

Now that I'm on PC I like to use Sten!!! :D

Poor qunari get picked on all the time because of how big and scary they are (I forget what that trope is called, the one where the smaller guy always beats up the bigger guy all the time to seem more badass or whatever) and I'm still upset that Alistair defeated the Arishok in single combat right after Hawke defeated the old Arishok in single combat so this kinda makes it up for me. Bigger guy crushes smaller guy. (Even though he's half-naked lulz) I also headcanon that my warden's mindset is more "Yeah, I'm a competent fighter but I'm also a thin elf girl and Loghain has years of experience against Alistair and I. Kinda risky. Maybe we should use the large, qunari soldier next to us who was bred for this sort of thing >.>"

I would have perfered Shale above all else but that scene doesn't play out right. :3 But whatever I'm overanalyzing since all they do is step around in a circle for a few seconds. Who do you perfer to use? haha

Can you actually use Shale? That seems kind of unfair, especially since this is such a high-stakes duel. You could just wander the land challenging people to duels, and at the last second name your bloody pet golem as your champion. Someone needs to lay down some ground rules for these duels. The first can be, "No sentient mountains allowed."

Anyway. Alistair. It's his fight. I prefer him to stay in my party and I'm fine with him ruling alone. So it works out best for everyone. Except Loghain. And Anora. So mostly everyone.

I kind of mix it up. On my main (elf rogue), then myself.

Generally speaking though, I have a hard time doing things for Alistair's benefit.

Warden.

Fights her own fights and all that. Alistair would have been my second choice but I usually want Alistair and Anora to marry, so he isn't an option.

What irony? Elf and Orlesian?

Leli is actually Ferelden. Her mom was a servant who had to move with her Orlesian mistress. There's a funny conversation with Lel and Loghain about this.. he insists she's Orlesian. :D

I tend to use the warden. Thinking about how Alfstanna mentions that it's supposed to be a test of 'arms', I wonder if using mages is fair.

Despite the fact that I most often use the warden (using a champion feels a little cowardly) I always thought this was essentially Alistair's fight. I used him on my first and canon playthroughs. Brings a nice touch of closure for him. I am a little annoyed it then removes the option of sparing Loghain, but to be honest, I wouldn't have taken it in my canon playthrough anyway.

Alistair gets his revenge, carries on as a warden, Anora gets the throne. Everyone gets what they want. Except Loghain.

Maybe I should talk to someone about being a chronic people-pleaser...?

I assumed she was referring to the fact that Zev was Loghain's hired assassin initially.

I went with the Warden on my personal canon playthrough, but had Alistair fight the duel on another.

I used to make a mage do it, either my own Warden if I was playing that origin or one of my companions. The last couple of playthoughs I've gone over to letting Alistair handle it. Goes well with the story to have him do it, I think.

Zev as he hired to kill the wardens and Leli as Orlesian. Orlesian in a sense that she grew up there, and all the mannerim and mentality that goes with it. Now that I know Loghain insist on her being Orlesian, I think the irony got trippled.

And ofc no one else but Alistair does the final blow, for the finishing touch.

It's Alistairs fight. The same way I make sure that my warden and no one else battles Howe.

My origin is city elf, and she hate human lords. Very satisfying when she executed him with a pair of iron daggers.

The Warden or Alistair. Usually Alistair, though that happened more often in my later playthroughs than in my earlier ones.

I use my Warden, although there's hilarious conversation if you attempt to use your Mabari. Try it!!  XD

I fight him  most of the time. A couple of times I had Leliana fight. Its great watching a good looking redhead kick Loghain's butt

I always fight Loghain. Like my Warden says during the Proving in Orzammar: "I have no second".

Dog is always my first choice-love Eamon's dialogue there-"No, Warden. Anyone with a leftover ham bone could buy his allegiance.Choose someone else."

I then go with my PC. One thing I am curious about is if you can bring a summoned pet into the fight. I have seen a Great Bear enter the Landsmeet before, so it might be possible. I had the Great Bear do a Overwhelm on Cauthrien the other day-it was great.

I did just check-you can summon a pet for that fight. Great Bear finished off Loghain with a Overwhelm. You have to summon it after the fights starts though.
