My comments here are to do with any Bioware game. Or really any RPG with romantic plotlines.
Full disclosure - I'm a homosexual male. In DA:O so far (I'm not finished it), I've romanced Zevran, but really because options are so few. In ME1 I romanced no one. In ME2 I romanced no one. In ME3 I romanced Kaidan, except that one playthrough where I forgot to trigger his romance so I went with Cortez instead. My boyfriend of 3 years, on the other hand, went with (I think) no one in ME1, but Miranda in ME2 and ME3 - which I disliked, until I saw a much better presented Miranda in Citadel DLC

I picked 2/2/2, though I don't fully go with that. Here's the model I prefer:
-2-3 heterosexual woman LIs
-2-3 heterosexual male LIs
-0-1 bisexual woman LI
-0-1 bisexual male LI
-1 gay woman LI
-1 gay male LI
(the lower numbers are not preferable, but would be tolerated)
Now, 10 romances can be pretty large, so I understand things being cut, but I strongly prefer any major orientation (hetero, ******, bi) to have at least 2 options, not 1.
If some of these romances have to be with non-party characters, I can accept that, but only as long as the LI gets 'full treatment' and at least almost as many conversations and plot involvement. A little flirting does NOT make a true LI.
ME3 is the closest I've seen so far to what I want, even if Cortez and Samantha have an annoying streak to their implementation (much prefer Kaidan and Liara to them).
I don't love playersexual. I think that it's totally fine for at least one LI to be attracted to the protagonist regardless of anything else, but for *all* of them? I can't help but have the feeling that this devalues their characterization. I understand the want for it, and don't automatically begrudge people preferring it.
I'm open to varied other types. For example, if Bioware ever put in one transsexual character, I'd be looking forward to how they implement them. If Bioware ever put in a non-humanoid construct (I dunno, even a being of virtual light? Whatever, just anything), I'd be open to seeing how that works.
But generally, I want hetero/bi/****** players to have at least 2 options to pick from, and I'm okay with hetero players having 1+ more options. To me, that's just how populations work, and having all 3-4 male LIs, for an example, potentially wanting to be with my male protagonist, just strikes me as strange.
