Since this is your first time, just making sure you know that he is supposed to help you fight the Behemoth, at least he did in my games.
Yes, I assumed it was just a minor glitch He helped me with the other red templars though, so he wasn't that bad as a tag-along.
But it would have been nice to have him along for a little bit longer, this part of the quest was pretty short.

The behemoth never is a problem for me - what ganks me completely every time are those two long-armed guys at the end. 
But not brave enough to use the tac cam
I'm terrible with a controller, though. I never use one. I doubt I'd be able to get my character to do anything more advanced than running.
It's like Cullen's just given up.... "What's the point...We didn't even bother to stock up on potions. We're doomed."
I could never use a controller either. WAY way too many degrees of freedom for me. But the key mapping for DA:I has stretched my dexterity limits. I still hit the space bar sometimes to pause. Grrr.
I only use tac cam when I get challenged, like with dragons, but then... I have no interest in playing on hard or nightmare. Tac cam makes me motion sick sometimes as I try to zoom around the battlefield. But it has its uses.
Shadows. I have a feeling their damage output is on overdrive. Cassandra is my main tank, got her the best stuff and she can tank a dragon plus two our level and not get a scratch. I can't get over his posture in that pic - it's like he's sticking his tush out and popping his hip out to one side, like he's ready to do some sort of wiggle dance...either that or he's gotta go potty...
And ya, judging by his "look" in that pic he certainly looks more on the tall lanky side. But he's like the horse of a different color in the respect that his height/build seems to change based on the scene.

I was thinking of the various ages of the LI's for a hetero-fem and most have to be near or over 40.
If Cullen was a full templar in DA:O that means he was 18, minimum. However...
Cullen is a Knight-Captain in Act 1 of DA2 which he says (during Keran's quest) knighthood takes 10 years. So in DA2, around 9:31, he has to be 28, minimum.
By the opening of DA:I 12 years have passed since the opening of the 5th Blight in 9:30 as it is now 9:42 correct? So while the math seems to work 18 +12 going by pure time passage since DA:O, it doesn't if he was a "Knight" in DA2.
So by DA:I Cullen is 37ish...unless his title was pure fancy and he wasn't a real "Knight".

Brianne specifies that Cullen is roughly 30, and I think it's said that he was promoted to Knight Captain early because Meredith thought his traumatic experiences with mages would give him the perspective needed to be a good influence on the other Templars. But his age isn't set in stone so you can headcanon whatever you want his age to be \o/ I like to think he's around his early to mid thirties because I feel like he stayed for a couple of years at Kinloch before he left. He said he'd never seen abominations before but Irving and Greagor did have a process for weeding out poor choices for Harrowings, so that's how I explained it to myself.

Cullen took on full Templar responsibilities at 18-aka Fereldan's Circle Tower.
Gregor sent Cullen to Kirkwall shortly after the Blight.
While in Kirkwall, Meredith saw Cullen's zeal and understanding for how dangerous Mages are and Cullen rose through the ranks -faster then most Templars and became her second-in-command.
He spent ten years-give or take- in Kirkwall.
Add in a couple of years for balance and you got 30. Bri is correct and after all she is the writer.
What happened to Keran is different as what happened to Cullen.

Me, too, or actually, I like to think of him as even older. I'm 34 myself after all But yeah 34 is a good age. My canon fanfic Lavellan is about 28, so I think it's a good age difference, not too much. I could even push him (Lavellan) as far as 33. Since it's a mild self-insert, I think this means I wish I were younger than I am

Yeah, the 30 seems a bit young to me. I still headcanon him as 34-35ish... which I can squint at and call "about 30".
FWIW, his DAO chr file put him at 24 in 9:30, which I've always found plausible for making him 34-35 in DA:I (which takes place in 9:41). Brianne's new calibration makes him only 19 in DA:O and 20 when he went to Kirkwall and was promoted to Knight-Captain. (and younger than Alistair, BTW. um, yeah.)
As for the 10 years until knighthood, I'm not sure that's quite what Keran meant. He'd been training for five years, and then they told him he'd have another five years during which they'd "watch" him. I always figured that meant they added on to his training period for the "making sure he's not a demon" part. I also wouldn't be surprised if it's a different amount of time for everyone, so long as you've completed all your requirements or whatever.
Finally, one of the Kirkwall templars says he started with Order when he was 15, and we now know Cullen started when he was 13. So, he could have started a bit earlier than normal due to his zeal.
From a purely selfish daydreamy standpoint I prefer mid thirties, so I don't feel too creepy lusting over someone almost 10 years younger than me (I'm 39).

no, his wiki page doesn't have anything on his age. So if it did that was long ago. Besides The fact that there's no source the puts him at 26. I'd say go with full rendering, it seems very very beautiful. But afterward it depends on how much budget do you want to put into it.
I'm okay with Cullen anywhere from 23 to 40, I'm 25 but my BF's two years younger than me & I also like older men (up to 40 max...). So anything's OK as long as he's not 18
Anyhow 35's better for storywise IMO, since in DA:O if CUllen got to be the one beheading (& apparently he had participate in several Harrowing already) he must not be 18 IMO.
