As for why we're there I'm just assuming the lowest possible options. For my human rogue I'm believe I'll be some servant to some high level person there.

Now that I think about it though, who would even have a servant there? It's the mages, and the Chantry. Hmmmm Mayhaps I stumbled upon the place. "What's all this then?" and preceded to just go with it lol

Well, the devs said that our Inquisitor's Surname(s) are of some importance historically, so I'd presume we probably wouldn't be some lowly servant or gutter rat.

Shame really, because I desperately wanted to be some poor schmuck thrown into the deep end with the elite and not have the faintest clue what to do so she/he just wings it and hope for the best. Plus, I could've picked really socially unacceptable choices around the nobles and blamed it on my lack off social standing, LOL!

Well there's always the chance we're some sort of fallen noble. I doubt the Cadash dwarf is as important as they were in the time of fleshy Shale, so it may well be the same for the Trevelyan.

It would have been so much fun! Could have made a fool of ourselves at a formal ball later in the game because we have no idea how to act in these situations. I would have been all over mocking the nobles!

Although if we have some importance that makes it slightly more believable as to why we're there....I still want to mock the nobles later in the game lol

I like that we'll be already somewhat important and/or recognised. The fact that Shepard was already a fairly decorated commander by the start of ME1 made the story that much more believable for me.

I do like the whole rags to riches/working your way up from the bottom aspect, but I don't really think it makes sense from what we know so far.

If we were a nobody there wouldn't be much point in us being at the peace treaty in the first place (I assume servants and the like would be made to wait outside.) Not to mention we certainly wouldn't be elected to lead a bunch of people who are decorated and experienced  in their own right.

I'm thinking of doing table thingy of Dragon Age's character's personality types.. I think I will include Cullen too : D So I'd like to ask what you guys think he's personality type is from these: http://www.16personalities.com/type-descriptions ? To me he's most close to ISFJ but I'm really not sure.

I looked at them all and was told by my friend I am definitely an INTJ :P

I suppose it depends if Shale stomped back to Orzammar to cause trouble, LOL! I quite like the idea of being a fallen noble so that the elite would kinda ridicule and pity us initially (kinda like they did a little with the Amell family). Maybe something like this:

Noble 1: *Scoffs* "Oh look, isn't that the Grandchild of Marcus Trevelyan?"

Noble 2: "My-my, how the mighty hath fallen! Ser Trevelyan was a great and honorable man, my father served with him back in the day..."

Noble 1: "A pity his youngest son brought such great shame on the family, such treachery!"

Noble 2: "Yes, he was their downfall, I can only imagine the embarrassment of having your wealth and status stripped from your heritage, what scandal!"

Noble 1: "They say the family is cursed, you know... perhaps it's true? Regardless, it must be tough on the lad/lass, having to serve the very family his/her ancestors fought so hard to defeat."

*Protagonist gives them dirty looks as his/her friend/temp companion puts an arm on his/her shoulder as reassurance*

I don't really fit into any of those personality types, from what I've read. I'm kind of a mixture of introvert and extrovert but not in the way that those describe.  =]

This is so wonderful! I often forget how awful Cullen's time in the pink bubble was (we only really see the last moment), but your fic explores his experience from a far more personal perspective than the game mechanics afford. The lore portrays demons as very insidious, but our in-game dealings with them (especially in DA2) often reduce them to nothing more than the average baddie. In-game encounters don't do the best job showing how dangerous demons and abominations are supposed to be in this universe. Basically, they either reveal themselves immediately in an "ARG, I'm a demon!" moment, or they try to trick us in an area where the player is on guard for such deception (Let's see, I know from the previous scene that I'm in the Fade, so this friendly man over here... Yep! He's a demon).

Your fic, however, manages to do what the game rarely does: it shows the demon's more dangerous, more cunning side. Hopefully demons won't be used in random encounters this time around. I want them to feel dangerous and I think that's best done through dialogue or cutscenes rather than combat. Personally, I hope that there's at least one moment in the game where it's possible for a demon to truly trick or tempt the player for once (For example, if Torpor had offered me the opportunity to play the rest of the game with one of Hawke's siblings in the party, I, the player, would have been far, far more tempted to accept his offer).

Finally, I hope Cullen's experiences are far more pleasant in Inquistion. The poor man deserves a break! By the end of your story I was tearing up just thinking of all the torture he was enduring. I trust Rion treated him well once she finally found him?

You should all be one closer now!  :)

I think the games did a wonderful job conveying the dangers of possession and demonic invasion into the real world of Thedas.  It's why, by the time I reached the end of DA2, I honestly couldn't side with the mages.  Even knowing the unfairness, and -- hey, I get it! -- the Templar Order was seriously outrageous in Kirkwall and needed real overhaul.  But I thought, by then, that the Templars were absolutely necessary.   saw Redcliffe, where one person's stupidity in not reaching out to the Templars ended with dozens of people slaughtered and consumed by demons.  My warden talked to a demon once who was feeding on a Templar's mind, too, yuck.  Then there's the Fade itself, which was freakiness incarnate.  And listen to Meredith's tale, shudder.

(I still think Alric should've been dragged into the streets and flogged to death like a pig, mind you)

But I think the Templars always served an essential purpose.  That they keep everyone that much safer from such dangers, including mages or maybe especially mages.  I think Cullen saw his own purpose as a failed thing, though, and for a time he flailed, trying to find it again.  Hawke helped him, I tend to think.  I really want to see Bioware do Cullen justice in Inquisition, because you're right.  He's done some extraordinary things, survived terrible events, and done real good by the people around him.  He deserves some goodness back, imo.

Well you might want to do the test that it has though if you have time ^^;: http://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

I don't think anyone is exactly their type since every person is different but I find INFJ to have many similar qualities I have XD

I've done a few of those tests once. On the one I actually think wasn't total rubbish, I got 7/24 on introversion and 23/24 on neuroticism. So nice to know how emotionally unstable I am.

You murdered me with feels *sobbing*  :crying:  :crying:  :crying:  :crying:

Thank you!  I was really worried about being so dang serious, there.  I've been writing a Fic for my canon Warden and I knew I was going to include that scene in my story.  When the call went out for writings about Cullen, I decided to toss it up a tad early, since I haven't even posted my DA fic in whole yet.  But I was nervous as heck about how it would be received.

Like I said, it was tough to write.  Even essential a scene, I still hated seeing a character I like so much hurt that badly.

Says I am INFP. I don't entirely agree with that but you can't really pin-point someones personality with a few survey style questions, lol. On the plus side it says J R R Tolkien, Tom Hiddleston and Johnny Depp are also INFP... so I can't complain!
