Sooooo this is completely random, but, I am extremely curious: What song would you pick as Cullen's theme/song that describes Cullen the best to you? *shrugs nonchalantly*

I was just yesterday thinking how this songs fits to DAO's Cullen if you play with Amell/Surana ^^

"Strange, I barely know you. But yet I feel so deeply connected to you. Crave, I never had you, but yet I feel so lonely without you. Beatiful stranger.."

PS3 player here. I was always a PC gamer exclusively up till last fall, but I couldn't afford to upgrade to a newer gaming computer and the PS3 was inexpensive. That was honestly the only reason for my choice.  *blush*

Should we edit the theme to be Raunchy/Awkward? lol

It would certainly fit my Inquisitor better. Not that she could never be raunchy, but she'd be shy about letting you people see that side of her.  ;)

Soooooo, question, what kind of Inquisitor is everyone creating? Curious as I'm still making up mine. :3

My Inquisitor is a human mage, originally a circle mage who became an apostate after being pretty significantly traumatized in her circle. She's sweet, gentle, and caring, but she has kind of a hidden tough side and she's not afraid to take a leadership role when needed, kind of likes the feeling of control. She tends to be quite understanding of other people and is highly loyal.

What do you think Cullen's personality will be like in DAI?? Awkward and funny like Alistair? A flirt like Zevran? A very serious emo like Fenris? Etc etc? :D

I see Cullen as mostly serious, but not afraid to crack the occasional joke if the situation merits it. I think he's basically introverted, but I also think he works hard to cultivate a more outgoing demeanor due to the nature of his work.

I think he's an honest man who would value loyalty and trust highly and would be highly uncomfortable with manipulation.

I see him as a person of deep religious faith, but who would tend toward deep inward reflection rather than showy displays of religious devotion.

When he's first falling for the Inquisitor I think he would be a bit shy and trip over his tongue a little, but that he'd gain confidence quickly as the relationship progressed and any hesitation wouldn't last long.

I think trauma has left its scars on Cullen, but I don't see him as a rehabilitative project for the Inquisitor. I think Cullen has already been working on his own healing, not waiting for someone to come fix him. I see him as an equal partner for the Inquisitor who can offer as well as receive support.

LOL between the two of us he has decided that Cullen doesn't need speech therapy because he doesn't stutter and I have decided he has PTSD and needs counseling sessions! :P

Haha, I love it!  :D

(I also agree he has PTSD and needs counseling! But you know that already.)

I think he's a shy person, certainly an introvert. It's rare that people literally go from being introverted to extroverted. Sure, I can see him giving into passion, but I don't see it becoming overly rough. I don't know why; I just can't see him as that type of lover. Even at his age, and with some experience under his belt, I see him being a bit nervous and asking his lover what s/he likes, to guide his hand, etc.

I would think the same. I just can't see Cullen being pushy in the bedroom. Taking the lead at times? Sure. But I just don't see rough or aggressive with his romantic partner. I also think what his partner likes and what makes his partner feel good would be extremely important to him.

There is something interesting about spiders that really make people feel creeped out -even the ones that can't hurt you, like Daddy Long legs or virtual spiders. I had one client who never minded seeing them on a tv screen but in real life would really begin to panic. He hated that I would put them outside instead of kill them but what can I say -it ain't my job to extinguish his existence. The elements or cruel Mother Earth does that all on her own. And should he be victorious and live? Survival of the fittest at it's finest!

BACK TO CULLEN-I'm betting someone has said this already so I apologize if it seems like I'm stealing your thoughts (great minds!) but finding Cullen in the cold mountain area may be why in that survey leak he has that furry pelt thing on. He looks dressed for cold. Also I know Aimo (and probably others) are doing a tream fabulous vs. Team practical and I want to see more shots of Cullen before I decide where he falls...but I'd be pretty shocked if he weren't on team practical lol!

I've never been afraid of spiders. I know it's a pretty standard fear, but I guess most of my fears are non-standard? I used to have a serious issue with silver cars and could barely get near them (don't judge, there were reasons  ;)) so I did what seemed to be the logical thing and made my next car purchase a silver one.  :P Aaaanyway...

I agree that finding Cullen in the mountains would be a logical guess. He was dressed for cold weather in the survey art and it makes sense that he'd be where there were Red Templars, whether fighting them or as a prisoner. I would think Red Templars would be a natural source of concern for the character and a natural point to introduce him into the story.

I'm more creeped out by grasshoppers, honestly.

And I like that idea about Cullen! And I imagine he'd be team practical too. It's hard imagining Cullen being associated with fabulousness

Well I'm scared of wasps. Not fictional one's but I will scream and run away if one is circling around me, I can't just stay calm around those ^^;

For Cullen, I don't think he's team fabulous either but in the end we don't know that much about him. Maybe he's in templars cause he's "a sucker for good tailoring " like Alistair XD

There's tons of PC people in that other thread. What really bothers me is when some of them exclaim "GEEE I can't understand how playing on a console could possibly be fun for a game like DAI???!!" :P It's like... please... shut... up. I really hope PS4 (or the game itself) has a screenshot function like Dragon's Dogma did. So I can take pictures of our beautiful Cullen day in day out. :D

I am more of an occasional lurker of the Cullen threads than a poster these days.

But I just had to say that the PS4 does have a facility for taking screenshots and for recording gameplay. It is via the 'share' button. You can also upload onto Facebook (and Twitter I think). I love it!

I have played DA on both the Xbox and PC. It does look better on the PC (plus mods are great). But you can't play it with a controller and my keyboard/mice skills suck a bit! I much prefer playing with a controller.

I don't mind if Cullen is a companion or not. I'm just happy he's in the game :-) (*goes back to lurking*)

I've recently gone back to the PC again after a few years of being on the 360 and PS3 (burned out from EVE, WoW and ToR, long story) and couldn't go back now. It's taken a bit to get used to using a keyboard and mouse again but the only time i've really missed my controller is with the Mass Effect games. I've tried a couple of emulators but didn't like them at all, so i'm gritting my teeth with it. Thankfully muscle memory is starting to come back.

Edit to stay OT

I'm starting to come around to the very likely possibility of Cullen being NPC only and being okay with that. However, liking it will very much depend on whether his character development and romance path is as fleshed out a full companions. The more i've thought about it, in both Dragon Age and ME, the majority of dialogue for characters and romances occur at our 'bases' anyway. It also has the potential side 'benefit' of me breaking my parties up more (whoever i'm romancing always gets a slot). I'll miss the exploration banter definately, so I'm just really hoping his character is done well regardless and not left feeling like an 'sexy' afterthought, otherwise I may shed a tear. Luckily my faith in Bioware makes me feel it will all be well, whatever his status.

Instead of lurking you should totally crash and stay at the Cullen party! Like all good parties there are things going on you wouldn't want your mother to know about, giggling over pictures of sexy men scantly clad (mostly Cullen but we've managed to slip in a few Alistair's, Fenris's, Duncan's and Nathaniel's ) and of course this party has a TON of hot babes attending. Not that that helps myself and many of the other gentlemen posters but hey, take what you can get! ;)

Is it really that better with a console? I sort of just got used to playing games on PC and I'm slowly getting back into Consoles. I love the PC for modding or going in and fixing glitches (Skyrim I'm looking at you!) and repeatedly and horrendously conquering the world (civ 5-never trust that sneaky b@stard Gandhi!) but honestly I've never modded Mass effect and gaming on it is pretty frustrating.

IMO, as it stands right now, I prefer ME on the console. As you say, modding that game is flat out, a pain in the rear. Graphically after using an ENB, Sweetfx and texture mods, I haven't felt that they are that significantly improved over PC vanilla. So unlike Skyrim, Fallout NV and Dragon Age/2 for instance, that particular aspect hasn't compelled me towards the PC version over console. The PC controls for ME have felt really clunky to me and over a controller, the controller wins hands down. So far it's the only game that I have had any real trouble with and I suspect that it could be the only one that I will go back to playing on the console over PC.

Regardless if Cullen is a Follower, I'd like if he has an armour similar to the concept we saw in the survey.
I'll probably play DAI on PC, though if i don't have enough money to build a proper one I'll buy a PS4.
As for my first Inquisitor, he'll be male dalish mage, with the main focus of restoring order. Peacefully if possible, with force if necessarily. Depending on how the elves act in DAI he might to against his people.
If Sera can be romanced by male PC, I'll probably choose her, otherwise Cassandra.

I'm bit of a fan of the survey concept armour as well. Much nicer than the plate and skirt. That fur. I can see just see my rogue Inquisitor stealth sneaking up behind him just to stroke that collar.....Ahem.....

I hope that we can customize our armours with pelts, so that I can go to the colder regions with my party fully equipped with them :).

What I'm most curious about Cullen is if the events of Kirkwall affected his psyche in any way. First blood mages infiltrated the Templar ranks. Then he saw Knight-Commander Meredith succumb to the effects of the red lyrium idol and lose her mind.

And now with the Fade tearing open, I wouldn't be surprised if part of his role in DAI is to help him maintain his sanity. After all, there's a whooooole lot of bad magic stuff happening out there!!

Good news: you get to romance Cullen....

Bad news: it will have to take place inside his padded cell and the straight jacket has to stay on.

Cullen in bondage?

Oh, this is where the "mature" rating comes in, right?

I think there is many different ways Bioware can go with his character and I wonder which way he's going to grow between games. Cullen might be part of red templars or against them. He might be templars side in the mage-templar war or trying to stop whole war from happening. He might blame mages for what happened in Kirkwall or realise that templars were the one's wrong.  Cullen might have grown stronger, less naive and more independent between the games or then he might be still broken and easily swayed. I think there is just many possible ways that Bioware can go with him but I hope that he will be stronger and happier character ^^

I doubt he will be part of the red templars.

As for his views, idk. I wonder if the actions of the warden and Hawke will make any kind of difference to that.
