I really enjoy Shales character, especially when you befriend her and she's glad that it didn't get squished during the Archdemon fight.

Whoa. I wonder if I played the same game as Bertz. And that may very well be the first time I have ever heard Shale described as having zero personality.

But I will agree with his views on Wynne and Leliana, though.

Shale with no personality and Oghren as an elf--he may have picked up a weird bootleg version at a flea market.

I don't know about this article. "Kaiden keeps whining about his L2s, Leliana is a one-dimensional ideologue, blah blah blah" are things I'd laugh along with if a friend said them in real life (edit: and have, come to think of it), but I'd be annoyed to hear them even on the BSN, and coming from someone paid to write about video games I expect more.

So he's referering to Oghren? It makes sense,at first I thought he meant Fenris but then I thought why would he mean Fenris in an article about DAO and besides Fenris wasn't always drunk...But still Oghren an elf?Maybe he took the line "Shave my back and call me an elf" a little too literally. :P

Shale was definitely full of personality! After getting the DLC I took her everywhere :) his (Bertz') statements make me wonder whether he gave the game anything more than a cursory glance. Though I won't lie, Kaiden did get on my nerves a bit in ME but that was more to do with the handling of the events on Horizon.

I dread to think what his opinions on the DA2 companions would be, LOL!

That what I was thinking too. I found DA:O's characters much more satisfying.

Fun article on DA:O...
http://www.gameinfor...ge-origins.aspx

Wow, this Bertz is kinda my opposite. Though I can kinda see where he's coming from with Sten, (though I also see why Sten is the way he is from an exposition perspective). It took me a while to like some of them, but I love the whole Origins cast, except Oghren the drunk elf. He was dull as dish water, unfunnier than a cat in bin and all round unlikeable for me.

He does seem to give the impression his companions should have been He-Man and She-Ra :S

Ya, I kinda felt like taking Oghren to an AA meeting sometimes. LOL

Agreed, but I think that's mainly down to the fact that we could actually have conversations with them beyond what their current plight was.

Oghren is the best elf. lol Funny that I didn't catch that, probably because my last play through was as an elf and I for whatever reason thought I was apart of the companions. It's not morning or anything over here I swear c__c

Oghren was sometimes funny, the worst for me was in Awakening when I had him and Sigrun. After the first set of banter I felt so bad for her c__c

Definitely. Why should I care on your stance on mages and templars if I don't know your stance on Orlesian shoes, lamppost licking and the smell of leather? It's the little things that make the character for me.

In my opinion, the mundane little conversations are super important when getting to the know the companions. Those little convos about such trivial things not only gives us a quick break from the fighting and questing but also brings back a brief moment of normality. I find it really helps hit home how big the threat is and how desperate the protagonist/characters are to keep hold of some semblance of their life before sh!t hit the fan, which makes the "big bad" seem even more poignant.

There was also only one mention of cheese and that was in the third act. I need more cheese in DAI. lol

If we could find a cheese festival in some remote location I would be ok with that.

"As the Inquisitor I have decided that we must take over this location!"

"But Inquisitor, there's nothing there save a festival of dairy products. Surely you don't think this would offer any military advantage?"

"I..uhh..the Inquisition needs to eat! They should have the finest cheese in all of Thedas!"

This. Right here.

We should have one room in the Skyhold full of cheese.

And as long as it's full out armies should have a small boost to morale.

I'm sure this has been discussed at length before at least in the previous threads but I was just wondering if you guys had any ideas for actors who could play Cullen. Tom Hiddleston has been mentioned before and he does seem well suited. Do you have any other favorites?

Greg Ellis would be one quite obvious and nice choice XD

I dunno, he doesn't actually look like Cullen... and he's kinda too old to pull it off now, even if he dyed his hair to match.

As far as voice goes he would obviously be perfect! :D But he has very dark coloring and I find it hard to picture him with lighter hair. Has he ever gone blond?
