You're right; I love how Shep started to break down in ME3; this was even more poignant when I played the previous two games and realized there was such a difference in how confident he (mine's a dude lol) was when compared to the latter half of ME3. I mean even in ME3 I could see him getting frustrated with the leadership and just displaying less confidence and bravado. Of course Shep's responses were also scripted, so if you WANTED to play a calm and cool Shep you really couldn't; s/he was written like that no matter what. So I think/hope you're right about the emotion wheel; that does sound pretty cool!

I've always felt that the DA team do the humanising of the characters better than ME did, but then the characters in ME were soldiers so they're kinda trained to show a lot less emotion than someone like Hawke would who was just some shmuck thrown into all these chaotic events, lol.

Oh yeah, I think the DA team comes out on top in terms of characterization.

Are they working today? I know it's bank holiday Monday in the UK and a memorial day in the US. Does Canada have that sort of thing too?

It's a normal Monday today. However they might be keeping quite now since it's only 14 days to E3?

Yeah, I'd presume that if we get anything it'll just be a couple of pictures via Twitter.

You could record the dialogue via fraps?

I could. I suppose I could figure out how to isolate the audio. I've never done much video processing, but I *think* it's possible, right? Although... there is definitely a way to convert MP4 to MP3 audio only, so it's probably easier than I think.

No one with such a hideous mustache will be part of my army! OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

Well, I'll take two! He looks pretty landsknecht-ish, and I dig that. Add a massive fluffy beard, and he'll be perfect! :)

I'm worried the writers listened too much to the DA2 haters and are moving away from the Hawke type anti-hero to the more traditional "I AM THE SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE/GOD OF THEDAS" Warden type character who makes all major state decisions and is just in general the most badass person to ever walk the planet lol

Oh, I hope they did. =) I hope there's an option for roleplay whoever you want, and the voice won't be too distracting. I'm all for epic powers, special snowflakes, killing dragons, crowning kings, and roleplaying an interesting personality at the same time =)

If you can record the footage I can extract the audio with my editing software.

Hey guys, did you notice that our bearded military guy (aka Cullen in disguise/placeholder/whatever) goes with us to Celene's ball?  :wizard:

*snip*

Ooooooh! I did NOT notice that! Thanks for pointing that out! Sneaky Bioware!

I'm hoping that they'll at least leave our background/origin ambiguous enough that we can headcanon what we want in there. I mean, sure my family heritage might be important BUT I'm not living it up as a noble because *insert headcanon*

Really what we're looking for here is characters that are 'human' (quotes because different races lol) Someone who yes has these insane powers but also isn't quite sure how to handle it and may sometimes make the wrong choice and we get to see their reactions to the consequences. I preferred how Hawke rose to power over years than the Warden somehow having all this power and influence very quickly. My last DA;O playthrough as an elf was weird when I chose a Dwarven King, I should not have had that power even if I was a Grey Warden. lol

I hope Bioware keeps track of various facts from games like LIs, names etc. Then make a pretty graph showing the results c___c I want to know how many people will love Cullen.

THIS!

Obviously our new protagonist is gonna be thrown into the ranks of the super elite pretty quickly due to the circumstances under which we become a special snowflake, but I'd like to have the option to see him/her struggle with it at first (perhaps even all the way through). After all, this isn't going to be an easy task and even the most seasoned warrior and cunning strategist would take a while to get to grips with not only gathering power and notoriety but also having to figure out how the hell to close that huge veil tear spreading through Thedas. I'd like to see some scripted incidences where the enemy does get one-up on us (like during the Skyhold attack) during which a lot of npcs die that we can't save, I'd like the option to display grief and guilt and confide in our companions/LIs that we feel helpless and don't have a clue what we're doing, I want the option to get mad as hell when we make a royal **** up or learn about one of the enemies successfully capturing one of our strong holds etc, I want to crack a joke at an inappropriate time and get told off for it, and most of all I want the option to mourn and even cry when someone close to us dies (and they will because it's BioWare!) I want to see our companions/LI comfort us properly, not just stand there looking gormless and then switch the conversation to be about them *glares at Anders*.

Didn't do much for me. There was blatantly enough room on that driftwood for both Rose and Jack!

You know, Mythbusters actually did this one. Seems there was enough room, but to survive would have required that they put Rose's lifevest underneath it.   ^_^

She let him die to put the moves on GE's character then?

This, but not so much at the power thing, more at the coming out of the Fade alive thing, (depending on how its handled and what actually happens, obviously). My first three Inquisitors would definitely be quite worried by the Fade Hand and worried they'd been possessed. I'd like to have so e option to worry about it openly rather than just internally/headcononally.

Even though I have not seen the movie (because I dislike my history movies being over shadowed by love stories *shakes fist at the new Pompeii movie*) I can say that the fact that it looked like there was enough room and they didn't even try bothers me. :P But who would have thought to put the life vest under the debris?
