I don't think we'll have the power to 'choose' the ruler as we did in DAO, expecially since the context is different. We didn't have the the choice to support Anora prior to the Landsmeet, while we might be able to do so in DAI, and the choice in support would lead to the one we supported to be the ruler.I really hope this is not the case; I just don't want to my quizzy to be the one to make massive state decisions like this. I mean, what does some Dalish hunter know or care about Orlesian politics? Sure, he can choose to support one or the other, but decide who's on the throne? I'm worried the writers listened too much to the DA2 haters and are moving away from the Hawke type anti-hero to the more traditional "I AM THE SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE/GOD OF THEDAS" Warden type character who makes all major state decisions and is just in general the most badass person to ever walk the planet lol
The Inquisitor seems to be different from Hawke though. He's a special snowflake from the start, since the reason he seems to become the leader of the Inquisition is because we're the only known being in Thedas able to stop the Fade tears. And as the leader of the Inquisition we'll likely have far more power than Hawke did.
