All of Asunder and TME take place, ostensibly, in 9:40. The game will begin "after" Asunder. So presumably in 9:40 as well..? Altho, I have a long involved argument about how Asunder (and now TME) must be ending at the end of the 9:40 calendar year since events in Asunder reference "Firstfall" which is the 11th month, plus it's winter in both books. So I would logically expect the game to begin in 9:41 unless it picks up immediately after the book events.

That's all they've said. MLaidlaw confirmed it was after Asunder, which we know ends in 9:40.

Wait, you think we will have only 4 LIs overall? No way. We'll have at least six. No way would DG go back to unequal options. And it was confirmed we would have straight, gay, and bi LIs.

I would like to have a more clear time window just cuz it helps me to organize my thoughts on the matter. It does kinda get to me. It shouldn't, but not having clarity on it makes my mind feel like it's free floating abt with nothing to pin things on.

I think we will end up with 2 choices for a particular PT. Not overall. For example, if you roll a straight female Quizzy, you would have a choice of a straight male, and a bisexual male. etc. and so forth.

NO! I will make it make sense. If I have kidnap Ben Gelinas and made him spill the One True Timeline^TM. Of course, the timeline in WoT already shows that they've retconned Asunder's mistakes. But TME clearly still ends in winter... post-WoT timeline retcon. 

Yeah, they're not going to set the game in winter. As positively enamored as I am of snowscapes winter scenery, and winter in general, I freely admit that a winter setting is a total PITA. Inside clothes, outside clothes, fixed exposure limits (you can't expect a guard in nothing but splintmail to stand watch for 8 hours with snow falling around him), all challenge the suspension of disbelief. It would be beyond awesome if our characters could put on one set of garments and have the appearance change based on whether the area was flagged as an interior as an exterior, but it ain't gonna happen.

Gosh, at first I thought you were saying that it *would* be in winter  because of the snowscapes we've seen. LOL And, I had an "aha!" moment. So,  hmm, I dunno! There's def snow in the highlands pics with the red templars, but then that's deliberately called the Highlands for a reason. There's snow in those concept arts of Skyhold and our Halla/Hart/whatever. But then, no snow in almost everything else. Hmm. 

 

You're probably right that it will be more temperate.

I'm not sure we'll have equal options. DG is adamant that everyone should have choices - I don't question that in the slightest - but I don't recall him ever saying that the choices would be equal. I would be delighted if they were, mind you, but I'm not sure we can definitively state that we've been promised that. We haven't been informed otherwise, either, We have been promised that it won't be like Origins, where straight Wardens got two choices and gay Wardens got one. Everything else is gravy.

You mean, they've retconned the fact that Asunder begins in 9:38, but ends in 9:40, so the book makes it look like it took Lambert 2 years to react? Yes, that part was making no sense, I thought there was a typo somewhere.

Snowy locations, yes. Return to Ostagar was like that, as was the Frostback Mountains and Haven. But an all-over winter gamescape... no.

We used to talk about how freakin' cool it would be if the Breach kept getting bigger and bigger to the point where the Fade and the real world collided and co-mingled and you couldn't tell what was real anymore. Still hope they do something like that.

Perhaps. The Veil is shredding, that's a given, which should bring about the Rise of Dragons, as Yavana had mentioned. Perhaps the dragons are a symptom of the Fade/Veil, and with the Veil falling, the Dragons returning at the beginning of the Age heralds what is to come in 9:40.

I love winter, too. I really do. But, yes, we have seen a variety of climates in the screenies and concepts. So, that's cool.

 

From what I can gather the game will prolly be in 9:41. maybe Springtime-ish.
