Nightmare demons and fear demons...this is gonna be interesting to say the least. Could someone also transplant the twitter image to this tread? I can't cause I'm on mobile

So glad those demons actually have names now. But what's the real difference between a fear and nightmare demon? Nightmare just sounds more niche-ier. Or if it was a Pokémon, the evolved form of a fear demon.

Nightmare doesn't necessarily have to be connected to fear. Though these demons might work as a pair.

To be honest, I was glad it was Cullen who came to pick Bethany. Because I could be sure he wouldn't harm or humiliate her. Besides, I think she was happy in the Circle. She finally didn't have to hide who she was, she could use her talents, and she was around people like her, instead of feeling like a freak - the only mage child in the family! She could have a career too! She found ways to express herself, and she quickly gained reputation and respect in the Circle, so that she was even allowed to travel sometimes. And she was still close to her family, her mother could visit her in the Gallows. Circle in Kirkwall was far from perfect, but it turned out to be perfect for Bethany, because, although it may sound paradoxical, becoming a Circle mage liberated her. It was still a loss to Hawke, however, so I respect it if you were mad about it

 

Cullen will certainly change. You just can't believe in the same values anymore after what happened. You could actually see him changing throughout DAII, but who he will be in DAI is difficult to predict for me. I hope he'll stay sane at least

When I see posts like this, I wish I could hit like more than once.

 

Hating Cullen because he's the one who took Bethany away is understandable! But going to the Circle in the first place was Bethany's choice. She began asking Aveline about it almost as soon as she arrived in Kirkwall, so it was definitely on her mind. She watched Hawke endure danger and hardship to keep her safe, and she was unhappy about the necessity of it. Cullen was not hiding behind a pillar, waiting for Hawke to leave town. Bethany surrendered voluntarily. And, as Galagraphia says, it didn't have to be Cullen who came for her. It could have been Ser Alrik. They forced her to undergo her Harrowing on the very first night, but they didn't have to. According to Chantry law, the templars would have been within their rights to slay any adult apostate on sight.

 

No one expects anybody to be grateful for a punch in the arm, but it could have been a kick in the head.

What does it mean to pierce the Veil, that which separates our world from the realm of dreams and demons? For the average man and woman, it is a frightening thought to consider just how fragile this separation actually is. The Veil is not a physical curtain, not a structure limited to a particular place—it is everywhere. It is in their home, in the streets where they walk, in farmers' fields as well as remote mountain vales. At any moment it could be torn to shreds, allowing demons and other horrors to flood into our world like water through a burst dam. Known lore tells us that small rifts can be sealed... but what about a large one? What if some catastrophic magical event created a rift so large and horrific, it weakened the integrity of the Veil as a whole? Such a "breach" would threaten our entire world, turning concerns about occasional demonic intrusion into a charming anecdote compared to the monsters we would then face. Wow,that looks creepy in a particularly cool way!Seriously the Fade is becoming one of the places I can't wait to visit,with it's surrealistic environments and mysterious denizens.

I don't think I'm going to be able to play this after everyone else has gone to bed.

 

I'm just a big Orlesian water chicken.

DAO and DA2 both had things that were scary in theory but never really looked it. But with the frostbite engine I'm going to be scared/grossed out by a lot of things. These demons, and I'm sure there are other types with equally terrifying designs and their minions are going to make fighting near the tears a horror game.

Spiders? Spiders coming out of crates at random? Spiders that look like real spiders because of frostbite? nopenopenope

Ugh,god I hate spiders!if they look extra-super realistic in DAI,I think I may have a tiny problem with caves and crates.

A while back there was a gameplay video and in it they talked about how a lot of caves are optional yeah? I'll have to avoid them for the most part, at least in the beginning I think. Creepy real things and dark caves are soooo not going to mix well for me. I'll need some good hilarious party banter to keep me happy.
