That wouldn't surprise me! That or maybe

Spoiler

Personally, I do think that's who it was.

For some reason I got the impression

...but, I'll have to go back and read it for this! I didn't catch that, but maybe.

As for the spoilers...

Spoiler

I... personally disagree with this, since DG has said time and again that we won't have actual gods as characters meddling in the affairs of Thedas.

UPD: I think Red Templars didn't shout anything coherent.

They were definitely clear in what they were saying it wasn't in grunts or inaudible yelling, I just can't remember what, lol.

Wasn't there a leak sometime ago that said the Red Templars were the ones trying to break into the golden/black city? Although that's likely incorrect, it could be that the Red Templars are aiding the "big bad" in breaking into the golden/black city by giving our Inquisitor hell and cultivating Red Lyrium to help him get in there?

I would love this as the storyline, skepticism of that particular leak aside. If I were going to try something like that, "breaking" the Veil and the Fade with red lyrium seems like a good recipe (see: red lyrium growing in recent Fade pics...).

What I do recall is that I heard Jowan's voice actor at one point, LOL!

I wonder if it really is growing in the Fade, or if the demons just recreated it because they'd seen it growing in Thedas? Although why they'd even bother now that they can pop out of the Fade whenever they want is beyond me.

Wasn't he one of the Inquisitors guards? Not the one we actually spoke to, just one of the randomers.

I personally don't think the red templars are being led by Lambert (or at least I hope they aren't.) Lambert specifically says it's his goal to "drag" the mages back to the circles. He wasn't the nicest guy, but he was somewhat honourable and he never broke the law (unless you count severing the Nevarran accord.) I just can't see the jump from who he was in asunder to murdering innocent villagers and gorging on red lyrium.

As an aside, anyone else picture Lambert as this guy?

I was just looking at this piece of concept art:

Concept_02_WM_web_zpseca374e4.jpg

The devs said that the massive veil tear in the sky is growing, right? Well, in this picture it actually looks like it's come to a point where the Fade has started to leak into the "real world". I wonder if maybe this is something that occurs right at the end of the game when we're finally strong enough to face the big bad and close the breach in the very place that it opened up?

Speaking of GoT, I think I'm really good at watching it. I'm nearing the end of the third season and all my favourites are still alive! (And I know about the Red Wedding. I'm still good after that too!)

Man, I have no idea. I was looking back through the screenshots for those pics of red crystally things growing in the Fade, and it was from the first Game Informer. Sadly, not all the early screenshots have been archived at da.com, so I've had a hard time finding a good look at it and I apparently didn't save it.

You can see red grass like thingies growing at the bottom of this shot (sadly the colors are bad).

I think it depends whether Lambert dies or not. If he's dead then it could be that whoever took over from him ended up getting them all involved with the whole red lyrium thing. Think about it, the Chantry controls the lyrium supply and the rebel templars have broken away from them so feeding their addiction could pose a bit of a problem, perhaps they'd heard about the thaig Hawke discovered that grows a more potent form or lyrium? Maybe someone approached them selling the stuff? Maybe a certain character from TME gave them a little heads up about it? Perhaps they stumbled upon it themselves? Who knows! What we do know is that people clearly didn't heed the warnings about how dangerous that stuff is, either because nobody believed Cullen/Varric/etc OR there was a mass cover up.

So are you suggesting that this is Haven?

I dunno, it's up a mountain that much I can tell, lol! The Sacred Ashes was up a mountain too, so if that's where the veil tears open then presumably it would be there?

The other thing I keep looking in that battle pic at is the glowy spot at the top of the concept art, where the green transporter beam from heaven comes down. The dark curvy things remind a little of the Dragon Bone wastes at the end of Awakenings.

Later versions don't have the little houses on the bridge anymore, tho.

But still... could be same place, before they started drawing it without those things...

It's been a long time now, but I could've sworn that when I watched the PAX Prime demo in London the Red Templar's had battle cries shouting about worshiping "him" "he" etc whilst they fought with our Inquisitor. Problem is, I can't recall if it was indeed the Red Templars or those other enemies towards the end where we captured the keep, lol.

It was the Venatori, NOT the Red Temps

The architecture of these 2 bridges is different: one is curved, the other is straight. Gates on them look different too. Of course, it could be different concept arts of the same place. But I don't think so.
