I really love that playtesting party. It's two thirds of my canon Inquisitor's party and the one that my later Inquisitors will probably use more often than others. Also, they're the companions I want to know more about and now, (though I doubt we'll find out if Vivienne's a LI, grrr).

On the pessimistic side, it doesn't look good if for FemQuisitor's prospects of being shown if she would make the majority of the party female. It's just the way it is. Sad face

I think he's gonna be one of my favourites. Iron Bull, Varric and Sera are likely gonna be the 3 characters I drag around with me the most, it's gonna be a hoot, especially if my Inquisitor can come out with some real clangers like my sarcastic Hawke did!

I can just imagine a Keep scene where Varric, Iron Bull, Sera and the Grey Warden are playing a fierce round of wicked grace with awesome banter while Cole watches with interest. Cassandra and Cullen are comparing swords whilst Leliana plays the lute. Dorian attempts to chat up Vivienne and Scribbles, and Solas is chasing after a mabari that's stolen part of his outfit

Because MrBob took a tour around the BioWare studios the other week and the devs told him, lol.

I must say, I hope he's not 'Oghren funny' because I did not find him funny at all. Sera I'm not worried about, since she seems more bad pun, knock knock and dirty joke funny which I'm all for.

idk to me it just seems kind of odd for a qunari or even ex qunari to have that kind of behavior , I mean they have pretty strict rules, and even as ex  qunarin in DA2 even if they were talvashoth there were still pretty.. weird...I mean they didn't seem like they were..."party animals" as everyone makes IB to be... in arts... cause in the trailer for example... he looks pretty thought.. he doesn't look like the kind of guy who u want to take to a bar and have a good time and have a beer with him

Well Sten and the Arishok were both zealots of the Qun. In Sten's Fade dream, his friends were more laid back and jokey and Tallis was also not the kind of 'No' Qunari we've seen before.

It's just something they like doing. Taking a character that should behave a certain way and making them do the exact opposite. So Iron Bull broke away from the Qunari and developed a taste for comedy, I guess. He's just unique, that's all, lol. In the same way that "Dorian" doesn't behave like your typical Tervinter Magister.

yea but in DA2 when you get that 1st mission of that qunari powder you encounter a group of Tal- Vashoth ppl or however you spell that, and even tho they are ex Qunari and they  want nothing to do with the qun they are still acting pretty strict.. like for instance when my Hawke was joking around with that one guys that pops in at first  the jokes that hawke made went straight over his head... and he took it serious , so Im assuming that the IB is Thal -Vashoth  witch means he should still have some "strict rules" just because he is used to his culture.. and as for Tallis... I dont really count her as one because she was 1st born in the elven culture witch is more laid beck then the qunari one...

It's like Wrex from Mass Effect, he was funny but the majority of his race wasn't... except that one Krogan who wanted to eat the fish, and later Grunt when he came of age.

I'm out of likes, so I'm reposting this. I know that appearance is pretty much all we have to go on with some of these characters, but I think deciding how a character or race should or shouldn't act based on how they look would make for boring ass gaming. :D So I'm excited to see characters that aren't "stereotypical". :D

Also, if IB is "hilarious", what the sh!t kind of shenanigans would he and Varric get up to if left to their own devices? :P

The more I hear and read and see, the more excited I get. :D

Edited: Because spelling is hard.

I just had LOADS of feels in concern that we WON'T have a mabari.

Could you imagine that? A dragon age party, SANS MABARI?!

*misses the promises of Fereldan~*

The mount could double up as a pet, I bet they've given it a personality just so that they can kill it off near the end, LOL!

They're real sh!ts for doing things like that!

I wasn't talking about how he looks I was more referring to his culture in witch he grew up in, I know im not the most likeable person in this thread and everyone hates/ most ppl ignore my posts  but I was just expressing my opinion.

That to me it seemed odd that a ex Qunari would behave in such a way considering that he has grown up in a certain kind of culture  even if he "escaped" from it, he would still have some sort of "strict" rules to him

It could be possible that, even while part of the qun, IB may never have really fit in in the first place.

Assuming he was born into it, anyways. We don't always fit into the mold we're born into.

I don't think it's weird if IB is how the devs describe him. If he's spent years as a mercenary i'm sure he could loosen up alot in that time.

Oh man, I totally agree; Oghren got on my nerves so bad! That said, I think part of it was his pretty obnoxious voice; not that the VA was "bad"; he did a good job, just the voice itself was sort of... purposefully annoying. And it was all just overall, grunting, farting, belching, sex jokes, but not the refined Zevran or Isabela kind of sex jokes, just... Oghren wants ****** and he wants ****** now lol No thanks!

Maaaaan every time I see/hear someone say "I know secrets!!!" about the Keep or DAI or whatever, it just lights the fires of jealousy inside me, and I just seethe and seethe lol I know logically that it makes sense for BW to reach out to their most visible and popular fans... and to me it's like a well-deserved gift for those who put themselves out there via podcasts, cosplay, and whatever. It's just... I guess I don't want to KNOW that they know lol

I sometimes feel like, hey, I'm a fan, too... but then I realize that I don't cosplay or do podcasts, and I sort of realize, okay, I'm not a fan like THESE guys. But then that makes me sad, because I WANT to be that kind of fan (I'm obsessed with Heroes of Cosplay now) but I don't have the time or money to do it, and also I'm sure there's laziness and lack of commitment on my part, and embarrassment... I could never tell anyone in my real life, oh sorry, I can't go to that movie I'm doing a podcast. I get so envious watching these cool people banter back and forth about the nerdy stuff I love. I want to be a part of that!!!!

Sigh. I hate being a boring person :( *lol*

EDIT: ohhhkay, so you can't say t!ts...

Nope.  I like you and you can't stop me.   :P  It doesn't bother me that he might be jovial or whatnot, but I do get your point.  It would be interesting to know how it came to be that he developed character traits counter to the influence of his culture.

K 1st of all sorry for bursting out like that, guess  sometimes stress from work just makes me pretty B!tchy  and I just take it with me at home and thats not how it should be.

But anyways, I guess what I was trying to say is, .. that yes even tho that he might be a mercenary  and no longer with the qun,  and even tho he might act as a different person around other ppl just to fit in doesn't mean he still doesn't have his own..." hidden personality" as in like from where he came from like for example Im from a different country and I have my own "rules" on things I grew up in, a different culture.

But when I moved to a different country that has completely different "rules"/ customs, I have tried to comply to them but that doesn't mean I forgot where I come from or  my culture no matter where I go or who I hang out with.. sure I may try to act different  just so I could fit in, but that doesn't necessarily make me who I am Im just putting out a fake face just to get accepted into something I am not.

That is not to say that IB *is* something like that, I guess its just the way I see him as.... that maybe somewhere deep inside he is not what he seems to be even if he is trying to put up an act of a happy go lucky guy.. maybe perhaps deep down he is not really happy?.. Idk or perhaps im just feeling dramatic tonight and just want to argue about dumb stuff... either way... it was just a thing ..that I had a different impression about IB that maybe he is not so happy and jolly and he may have a tragic past and tht he may try to hide it with humor

Well it's tough to analyze a character this deeply when the knowledge we have about him is limited.

We'll find out when the game comes out :)

I get what you mean about the sense of humour being a mask. I don't think he's a happy guy, even if that's what he presents to the world. They said he fears nothing but the past, so I think he's deeply traumatised, much like Cullen, but the Iron Bull is trying to hide it and run away from it.

Edit
The quote disappeared? Strange.
