You can see what I mean about the lip scar, right? In the picture it's far more vibrant so there's a green glow to his face from the Fade tear outside. I'm not entirely sure if it's just the light reflecting on his skin making it look like a scar, or if it's actually making the scar more pronounced.

It does seem to be a scar as we can't really see any beard/ stubble in the area. If it was just a light I would think there would be some hint of stubble. But then again with a video game it's hard to tell :/ And even if it was a real photo of a real person if the light is strong enough it can "eat up" textures too.

That's what I was thinking too. His stubble/facial hair is more prominent in the framed picture, I think the lighting plays a big part in the fact that it seems less than his previous incarnations.

Ok here's the best picture I could get of him, but it REALLY doesn't do him justice at all (he looks MUCH MUCH better in the proper picture). You can kinda see from this one that his jaw is chiseled, but again, trying to capture a good shot of him via my phone is near impossible.

If you look at his jaw/ chin there isn't a similar line there, even though the levels of his face should be around the same height and the light source doesn't change. There is a spot of light under his lip but it is much softer and larger than the line on his upper lip.

Still a tough call. Maybe he just has shiny skin XD I'm hoping it's a scar though!

I see the reflection of the green light, but the green light itself is highlighting something there on his lip that def looks like a scar to me.  I'm going with it until proven wrong.  
And yeah, this man is sexy as hell.    Though they may break our hearts later somehow, Bioware has been good to us in this at least.

I also think it's a scar,It's way too prominent although lighting and shading can be deceptive.

Thanks for posting that closeup! It's a much better image.

 

A few random observations:

• They're doing fabric better than they have previously. It drapes, and it seems as if the edges are thinner. Does anyone remember how thick the collar seemed on the DLC mage armor?
• Love, love, love the way dark skin is rendered. I can't stop saying that, but it's true.
• I may miss the curls, but I'm a big fan of the sleek new do. It looks more like individual hairs and less like varnished wood, as Yahtzee described DA hair.
• Is it possible that Cullen's lighter look could be due to some silver threading among the gold? Perhaps it's the lighting, but there seems to be a lot of highlights/variations in shade in his hair.
• He still has facial hair. The sheen of his skin is making it hard to see, though.
• His outfit is completely devoid of templar insignia. That may mean something.
• Maybe it's a trick of the light, but the top edge of his gorget looks as if it were cut with a torch. I'm going to assume it's just an oddly-lit decorative edge.
• He isn't as wide as he looks. A lot of that is the bulky mantle he's wearing over his armor. His hips are both visible in the gap, and they look delightfully narrow.

OMG, it's him! The hair changed, but the face is still his! Everything looks right!

Edit: No, that's right. Malcolm's Honor had Andraste facing the other way... which put her vulva in all of my screen caps (grumble, grumble).
