I don't *think* Cole is a demon, and if the book says otherwise, please spoiler tag. Some of us haven't finished the book yet (me) and if you are just speculating please clarify. If he *is* a demon and it says so in the book, this is gonna need a spoiler tag too lol

 

The book doesn't make any real and overt assertions as to what Cole is, leaving it more to the reader to speculate.  Hence, I didn't proffer any spoiler tags.  If he's anything but a demon, though, I'll be a nug's uncle.  The only question then becomes what is the *real* nature of demons and other Fade spirits.  Which, imo, is precisely the role that the character of Cole is supposed to play out for us in-game, so that we gain a better understanding of those spirits.

 

Regardless of what demons truly are, though, I doubt Cullen will be a huge friend of his, ever.

Do you think Cole will be running around the Skyhold, intruducing himself to people like this (spoiler for Asunder spoilers):

"Hello, my name is Cole! Once I was a hedge mage, until templars caught me, threw into their dungeon, where I died from hunger and thirst. But now I'm a confused demon, who practices blood magic and kills strangers. Pleased to meet you!"

Cullen will probably think Cole is just some cool assassin you picked somewhere to assassinate people for you Until maybe something happens that will change things, like Big Bad comes and tells us who Cole really is, trolololo. And then Cullen's reaction will depend on what Cole really is. And how much he knows, and how much he likes (if he likes) Cole already.

Evangeline, for example, felt 2 things for Cole: first one was pity, because in the Fade she felt how much he'd suffered; the other one was guilt and shame for her order, which failed to protect Cole. The latter can totally work on Cullen too. Although Evangeline seemed like more empathetic person than Cullen. Cullen may not be so easily moved, especially after the Broken Circle, so I agree with you on that.

Still, it would be nice to see their relationship taking an unexpected turn. I want the game to surprise me

However Cole represents himself, I'm fairly sure he won't be able to truly hide his "dangerous" nature.  Not from someone experienced enough to look for it in just about everyone he meets, no.  And Cullen is singularly disinclined to any positive appreciation for demons, ever.  It will require something outrageous, something incredible before he's shaken from his own pained experience.  Which might, you're right, make for an interesting twist in the story.

My question to those who read TME:

There is so much hate for the Dalish among those who read the novel. My question is this: I am at the part where Celene and Michel carve through those poor Dalish elves (haha I'm a little biased ) and escape the camp, after which a rather stupid Michel (I love you, bro, but seriously?) releases the demon.

 

Do the Dalish do something truly heinous after this? So far I haven't seen anything bad from them at all.

Okay, from me.  Since I read the book and I'm not a particular fan of the Dalish (and especially not those in TME!):

Those Dalish are the ones who summoned that demon, trapped it there.  All to piddle around with some notion of regaining their own lost ancestry, rather
than focusing on the future and the real issues and people that need their support right now.  Michel, who was threatened and beaten by the Dalish,
only unraveled their own trap enough the demon was let loose, a thing he's determined to redress rather than shruggingly go about his way without a single
care for the foolish damage he's done.  To me, though, the Dalish brought their own destruction on themselves.

Agreed, I know its meaning is appropriate for him and everything but I can't wait until we have real names for everyone.

 

(EDIT: and also nothing against you, Jumeyle! The nicknames are all we've got now, and even if his nickname was Phlegm or something, you tag that with whatever you've got to tag it with to get people to see it because it's great. )

Funny, I saw GE's photos with the same expression as Cullen has here. Cullen learnt something from his VA, apparently
And I can't decide if he looks annoyed, serious or pained. I think in DAII he was usually friendly and nice, annoyed or pissed off, but I don't remember such grim expression. He's deadly serious here. Serious like a beheading serious.

I know. I honestly LOOOVE this expression. He's so over it. Whatever "it" is. I feel like he's rolling his eyes at us for squeeing over him. It says so much about him, IMO, that he's so so stern and serious in this pic. 

 

Seriously. So excited. I wish I could hitch a ride in Lola's brain and see the pic myself. Boo, for the eighteen billionth time, for her living so far away.

Well, this is my sketching done for the day. It's a lot less finished than I'd like to leave it, but I've lost my sharpener, which has essentially rendered a lot of my equipment useless  

 

Once again, Inquisitor Melaina is very surprised to find out her keep has been invaded by a long line of humans intent on removing the armour of her war adviser.SHe is however, rather intrigued as to what might be underneath.
