Wonderful!! Be grateful for your awesome education (I'm sure you are.) In my state, they've dialed down the literature taught in English to 30% of the class; the rest is all dry essays. I'D BE SO PISSED if I were a high school teacher. It's bad enough I get students who can't recognize that A Modest Proposal is satire. they're all, "I can't believe he wants to eat babies."
