Ahh that would literally be the best. I was already excited for E3, then yesterday they said that all next week is DAI week and I got even more excited, now this. <3
My poor family and friends are going to be so sick of me and DAI before next Friday.

I talked to my friend about it and he said it looked boring and asked if there will be guns. :l
I wanted to slap him and walk away all sassy like but that would be awkward because we were in in public.

You.

Guys.

What if he had some special message for us in his video. I MEAN, I'M NOT SAYING WE'RE LIKE THE SH!T AND STUFF AND DESERVE A MENTION.

But...what if.

I think BioWare would be liable for contacting our respective emergency care centers so they can have ambulances prepared for the heart explosions we'll have.

I think....I might need that ambulance if he does that.  But the guy's super sweet anyways, so either way my life year would be made :D

Oooh that's the worst lol My friends are mostly interested but not to the same extent as I am, even though I haven't been in the fandom all that long. I just annoy the heck out of them with all my talk of it. :P I did manage to get one friend interested in DA again since DA2 completely ruined it for him.

 I hear ya'!  I almost feel sorry for the unavoidable neglect my family will necessarily suffer next week.  Almost, but not quite.   ;)  They're all adults, they'll live.

Next week I'm staying with my family for the first time in over a year. I am envisioning a lot of late nights catching up on E3 news so I don't neglect them during the day

Just to chime in late on this, I actually appreciate people who don't like Cullen stopping by to discuss him. It is a discussion thread, not a fan thread, and ostensibly the "official" discussion thread, which means everyone is welcome. It's interesting to delve into the problematic aspects of his character, which his fans do as well. So long as it's a discussion and remains respectful.

Agree 150,000% with everyone's comments on how foolish the haters and trolls are to bother coming by to rattle our cage. Spending even one second to tell us how they're going to murder knife Cullen is just a waste of pixels, bandwidth, and everyone's valuable time.

You're right, of course, but it's probably going to get worse after DAI actually comes out.

People like/dislike characters for a variety of reasons, some entirely logical, others less so (but not less valid). When a character is optional and ignorable the way Cullen was through most of DAO and DA2, it isn't really a big deal. Avoidance is possible. But if Cullen is the adviser of an important faction or if he's an NPC, it's going to be a lot harder to ignore him. People who already feel slight animosity are likely to find that it intensifies dramatically. It's a lot like being stuck on a long car trip with a very recent ex and his new girlfriend and discovering that the stereo system is broken.

In other words, we'd probably better get used to it, and practice our most patient "I may not share your opinion, but I am sorry you feel that way."

Oh this certainly will happen when the game comes out... and heck we may want to retreat back to the old thread then to weather the initial storm.

But, my point is that I want to make sure folks know that they don't have to be a rabid fan to come discuss him here.

I know how you feel. My mom is a gamer and I'm trying to make her play it but she won't. Every time I go over to my parents house I try to convince her but I never do, although she is interested in it so that's a start. :P

I've found this thread to be a lovely, positive place and I certainly hope it doesnt change too much when the game comes out. Anyone who looks at the moment can see that it's full of friendly people and awesome art. With any luck anyone who isnt a relentless troll will be respectful of the opinions of others :) or so I certainly hope :)

Hope everything sorts out! It certainly does seem like us Cullenites are having a great week so far, with Lola's new picture of him, and now a video with GE coming up too :)
Hopefully E3 will bring even more good news :)

Sadly, I think that will take an awful lot of luck for it to come to pass. But hope springs eternal!

There was a pointless comment in one of LadyxInsanity's videos where the guy posts that he hates Cullen, that he's going to kill him and that he's a "h o m o". I told the kid to go cry me a river, LOL!

Um, I wish LOL

Plus, my phone at least, isn't allowing me to post in any of the other forums for some reason, so I'll be very lonely here if this thread gets deserted :(

I'm willing to wait and see what they do with Cullen, but I still have a lot of bitter memories with him, especially with Bethany.

Man, I reeeeally don't get why people go on about Cullen taking Bethany. Bethany was an illegal apostate; Cullen was the second-in-command of the templars, basically the deputy of Kirkwall. He could have clapped her in irons and dragged her out, kicking and screaming, then thrown the rest of her family in jail for life for harboring an apostate. But no, he arrests her as calmly and gently as possible, not as if she's a prisoner (so long as she cooperates, which she does), and leaves her family alone. He's even polite to her, referring to her as "Mistress Bethany."

I mean, wth do people want? For him to act completely out of character and say, Hawke, I just discovered your sister is an apostate. I know I've devoted my whole life to bringing apostates to the Circle, not just for our safety for their safety as well. But hey man, because you're such a good guy I'm gonna let this one go. Be cool, bro."

Um, no.

LOL It won't get deserted. It'll get flooded. We think it moves fast now...? That's one of the reasons the old thread may be an option. Along with the super not so secret Cullen group to avoid spoilers.

Bummer about being limited, tho. I know there are still folks who can't post in the old DA2 thread even tho they've registered the game. :( Dunno why.

Um, no.

And realistically, after all those years... he probably should've killed her. And arrested the rest of the Hawke family.

I guess some are just so attached to Bethany and her as companion that they don't want to give her up. Their anger is little misdirectioned though, Cullen is just doing his job and actually being really considerate in it. I guess some players don't think further than: damn you for taking my sister away from me! ^^;

See, this is the point when most will squawk that we are so quick to defend Cullen for his nonsense actions, and it's just silly. Had he not arrested her, he could have been then in trouble as well for harboring mages, right? And the Templars that did that sort of stuff did so by sending the mages somewhere else. I really think that two options were available:

Arrest Bethany under HIS terms and in a way that is undeniably kind and caring

or

Have her flee with the others.

Bethany would have been closer to Hawke and her family whilst staying in Kirkwall, a much better life than what she could have faced had she run off with blood mages and criminals to where ever it is that they've gone. (Say, some place lying in wait to attack us in DAI? ;)) Now the fangirl in me wants to add, "...where Cullen could personally see to it that Bethany was cared to properly, as his love for Hawke dictated it to be so," but y'know whatever.
