You guys are so great! I swear, there is this very specific look that my friends give me when ever I sque about DAI. If it wasn't for this thread and the occasional phone call to my brother, I'd probably burst with all my pent up DAI (and CULLEN) enthusiasm and my family would eventually find little pieces of me littered throughout the house........

I get how you feel. I only have my twin brother to talk about DA. Thankfully he's as interested in it as myself .
Though this thread is really great to discuss various topics in a civil way .

I've just seen a comment on one of Ashe's videos that really pissed me off:

 

"I found that his (Cullen's) crush on my female mage to be a little creepy tbh. It actually gave me insights on how girls must feel at bars when creepy guys hit on them."

 

How is that anything like being hit on by a creepy guy? It's the female Warden that comes onto him, IF you even pick that option! Here's my reply:  

 

"Speaking from experience of having creepy guys hit on me, I can assure you that it's nothing like that.

 

For starters it's the female Warden that can hit on him (if you pick that option)... and he literally runs away because, as he says, it would be inappropriate because she's a mage and it's his job is to essentially guard her. It would be like a jailer shagging a prisoner. IF he had been "creepy" then he would've taken her up on that offer, OR would have tried to seduce her first. He doesn't do either of these things.

And in all fairness, he was young. I'm sure we've all been there when you've had a crush on someone and the feeling wasn't mutual or you've acted really awkwardly around them because you're nervous to talk to her/him, even worse when the object of your desire finds out that you like them and people start gossiping about it etc. 

Out of curiosity, have you played the Mage Origin as a female mage and talked to Cullen using all the options and dialogue available? I would suggest doing so if you haven't, so that you can see for yourself."

 

Sometimes I swear they're playing a completely different version of the game that we've played, LOL!

With all GE's singing, and that tweet, I'm starting to imagine them introducing the characters in the style of a musical. That would be equal parts awesome and terrifying to behold

My partner was overheard having an exasperated discussion at work with a colleague about how Dragon Age had swallowed their respective girlfriends. He did however mention he will be paying for my inquisitors edition, so all is well.
Whenever I mention anything DA related to him he gives me a look that is equal parts 'crazy lady' and 'I pity you' but I'm excited to have a new escape from reality. It's been a while.

This sounds eerily similar to myself. My boyfriend pretty much just pretends to listen and nods his head politely when I talk about it, or openly rolls his eyes. But he is still buying me the inquisitors pack so I let it go haha

You know, originally I bought the PS3 for him... But its pretty much always me using it bonus! He only really plays Fifa.

Omg the situation is so different. That would mean that if Cullen did come to flirt with mage Warden and if she was in discomfort/said no, still kept flirting with her and being pushy. He doesn't even made a move towards mage Warden, he just has crush.

You know, originally I bought the PS3 for him... But its pretty much always me using it bonus! He only really plays Fifa.

 

Oh, we got an XBOX ONE about a month ago as a combined early birthday present for the both of us and I haven't touched it ONCE! But come October I'm going to be dominating the hell out of that console!

I did see some comments the other day about people that come on this thread just to be "awesome" and talk crap about how much they hate Cullen. I haven't seen any of that personally due to not being part of the thread for very long, but yeah, jerks.

It doesn't happen often (from my knowledge), and with the new forum mods generally act quickly. A lot of times I same up and find people mentioning trolls, but their posts were already deleted by the mods .
Things might be worse near and after release though.

I personally have always played XBOX and so has he, to which I'm thankful for, because he is one stubborn son of a........... Any way, the argument we would have had over that would have blown over within a day...... after he got his own way

 

Edited: But XBOX all the way (Totally know what you mean though, I would feel weird playing a playstation after years of playing on a XBOX)

Love it! I always cried big salty tears when ever I watch the movie and see him die. Him and Cedric for some strange reason (actually I think its the whole "that's my boy!" that does it to me)

 

But yeah, definitely one of my favorite characters. I think I spent my tweens thinking he was the bees knees and had the biggest crush on Draco

The scene of this death plus the flashback (even if a bit changed from the books) were very good.
As for the last part, I started suspecting something was strange about his reaction in the third book in both the meeting with Sirius and the latter's escape (he seemed too mad for having only lost the Merlin Order title), and I had a crazy theory that he was actually related in some way related to Lily after the fifth book. I was sure it was just a crazy theory .
I was completely sure that Dumbledore's 'murder' was planned by the latter and Snape though .

Nah, it's cool. I can see why people would hate Snape through the series. I just always believed there was something more about his hatred for Harry then just his rivarly with his father (granted, he wasn't a really nice to people, though I can understand why he was like this).

I'm generally the person who roots for the bad guy. Not because I'm evil, but because it takes a well-crafted good guy to interest me. As a result, I have at least as much love for the Joker as I do Batman and Magneto, and I'm totally on the Phantom's side in Phantom of the Opera

But then again, I'm not winning the Nobel Prize in Normalcy any time soon

Actually, I think most people hated Draco lol I have a Draco/OC fic based in 6th year that I'm just itching to get down, but alas I have so many fics on the go at the mo I can't justify adding another one to the bunch. I did do a small exert from it though, unfortunately not many fans are into OC characters when it comes to fan fiction.
