I think DA2 was perfect. He remembered her with fondness. That's sweet and not weirdly obsessive.

I'd prob make him my tank, so sword and shield for my game. Unfortunately poor Cassandra is prob gonna get left behind a lot since I'll want to drag Cullen and IB everywhere

I was kinda hoping DAI would go away from this design or at the very least, allow any companion/class fulfill any role you choose. So, a warrior could be dps, tank, or heal. They would just make them distinctive for the class. Like, a warrior uses healing auras that don't make him/her as effective as a spirit healer but allows them to engage in combat while also passively supporting with auras. This would allow us to take the companions we want without worrying about who we should take for what roles. I understand they do abilities based on personality but I think this should be sacrificed for the reasons above.
