Me, too. I wonder what they're saying? I'm not too critical of people saying they think a character is ugly or unatttractive. It's when they say crap like "She looks like a man" or whatever that really irritates me. Still, I do get the overall feeling and fear a not-good-looking potential LI can inspire in players. I'm still astonished at how grossly unattractive I find Solas and Dorian... and in a constant funk that these are probably my only two LI options. I mean, really. The irony.

 

But again, Sera looks awesome in my book!!!!!

There are a number of whitewash Isabela/Fenris mods for DA2. I don't know if Bioware can win either way, no matter what they do some group of people will be upset.

There are a number of whitewash Isabela/Fenris mods for DA2. I don't know if Bioware can win either way, no matter what they do some group of people will be upset. 

 

What people do with their own games has nothing to do with Bioware. As for people being offended, they should be thankful that's the biggest problem in their life. 

 

If you look at the concept art, she's a similar shade to Cassandra and it's down to the heavy shadows her looking dark.

Yeah, I saw an entry related to Sera's "white-washing" on TV Tropes and rolled my eyes. 

 

The logic is that DA elves are supposed to be representations of oppressed POC, and since Solas and Sera are lily-white, that's racist.

I was going more on the fact that there seems to be a number of people who change the skintones of characters to a light colour so the sudden 'omg she's so whitewashed' thing threw me off.

Lol there is so many white elves in the Thedas, it's not odd that they are white as well! Zevran and Fenris seemed to have darker skin colour cause they are from Antiva and Tevinter, not because they are elves XD Like DHMG has darker skin colour as well

As far as I know some original concepts had her with dark hair didn't they? But her skin was basically as it is now.

Unfortunately there are a lot of angsty people out there. They're certainly attacking the wrong company, Bioware are at the forefront of inclusion in the gaming industry

I've never understood such angst.  What one person finds attractive is utterly subjective, and hardly speaks to any kind of disdain for someone based on their looks or color.  I mean, I can honestly say I think Cullen is attractive as a character, over Vivienne by a mile.  Doesn't mean for a second I look down on Vivienne.  Just that I'm not as attracted by her looks .... Sheesh.

I don't understand it either! I've not followed a game this close before release in a long time but I didn't except this much backlash/internet anger.
