Uh... yeah. If I had to name a single thing about ASOIAF that totally squicked me out, it would be Mr Martin's ideas about the age at which females enter adulthood. But it isn't just Littlefinger. Neither Stark parent seems to have a problem with marrying Sansa off to Joffrey the moment she enters menarche. And literally everybody in the Seven Kingdoms is cool with that. Ugh. I am so, so glad that Dragon Age lacks an adolescent face/body model.

At least Sansa and Joffrey were about the same age though...I mean Littlefingers old and stuff :3

:police: (<- Okay but seriously. I am in love with this emote. IT'S LITTLE HAT. I shall use it everywhereeeeee. Even though it's not relevant. I mean, the hat.)

Why not put it in your signature? That way it is in all of your posts. ^_^

I think that the reason I appreciate Cullen's character so much is that he is so, uh, not sure of a perfect word, ...let's go with sensible. On top of his practicality he has shown so much growth as a character in even the short blurbs we got of him.

He started out as a young, eager Templar who just wanted to 'do the right thing'. He did not see mages at these terrible baby-eating monsters as so many people did. He just wanted to protect them from themselves and protect the people around them. Then he had horrific things done to him by mages, so it is only natural that he retaliated by casting them all off as evil. He had PTSD I would assume; I mean seeing your friends tortured and murdered in front of you while you are receiving torture as well can do damage to a person. So yes, that event did cloud his judgement. So from there, he continued with his templar duties but with the ideals to 'stop their evil.' However, as time went on, he realized what he was doing was wrong. He saw how they were being treated and I think he reflected on that and realized his judgment was biased. And he then re-aligned himself to do what he thinks was right. He shows that when he stands up to Meredith and when he lets mage hawke go (if hawke is a mage lul). I don't think he will ever be as trusting or as naive as he was before, but I think he is starting to figure himself out. And that is why I admire Cullen the knight-commander. Even if you don't like his personality, there is still a lot to be liked as a character. (I liked Meredith as a character. Not as a person, but my out of character self enjoyed her!)

So in conclusion;I think Cullen is remarkably strong because he was able to accept the fact that even though something horrible happened, and can happen, that not every single mage is to blame. He has views that are very well rounded, and that I can appreciate.

I'm not sure how to describe it either, honestly. But I completely understand what you are trying to say.

More than likely, if Cullen is to be in it at all, he'll briefly pop up in a quick trailer. Unlikely anything too terribly noteworthy.

Best case scenario is if they show off choosing between the military/diplomatic/espionage options.

I'm imagining the trailer finishing and then the release date coming up on the screen and then a 5 second shot of Cullen just popping up and frowning at us all  :P

She's no older than Lysa Tully was when she was married to Jon Arryn, who was something like Maester Pycell's age. Just typing that makes me feel dirty. Seriously, GRRM, wtf?

Hey guys, I'm all for proving the troll wrong, which he is considering his proof isn't actually proof, and also scaring him off with shirtless cullen with baby animals, but this is gone on long enough. It's been several pages, I'm stepping in for an absent R2 here for a moment to tell you we should just start ignoring him. Arguing with him to this length will just invite more of his kind.

Also remember Allan warned us about discussion of specific forum members in a negative fashion.

Yep, if someone is going to twist my words like that I'm not going to bother. I thought the discussion was turning civil for a second - silly me.

Anyway.

OT for a moment: I think a corpse is flirting with my character in Bound by Flame.  I'm just: ...whoa dude.

HAHA I laughed way too hard at that. XD

I've heard so much about Bound by Flame. I'm tempted... but I'm easily disappointed. For example: I keep trying the Witcher, but I wind up hating it for both the fixed protagonist and the misogyny. I tried TES, but the world felt empty without BioWare-style followers. What is your impression? I mean, don't derail the thread or anything, but if you wanted to send me a PM, I wouldn't mind. But no pressure! I'm not sure I'd buy it in any case (I've got too many half-finished mods for that), so it would be mostly idle curiosity.

It doesn't bother me, I've just excepted that history was screwed up (not that ASOIAF is history) but my point being, people had to marry young and reproduce because they didn't live for as long. When you look at it that way, it's not so bad  :)

So, Greg Ellis interview wasn't ready today. I guess we will have to wait for it. This weekend will be the longest! I wish it weren't so hot, and I could draw something. I have a draft of a comic where Meredith stabs Cullen with her lyrium sword, and I need to finish it.

Why does my mind always go to the gutter? I mean, it doesn't even make sense for my mind to turn ^^^^this dirty because Meredith is a woman!

But I can't wait to see it  :D

I just want to sit with a cup of coffee and read awesome stuff by like minded people :D honestly I can say that I loved Cullen from the first time I saw him in DAO trapped in that bubble. I have never given much thought as to why I just know that I do. I like it here because I can agree with everything that is being said about him. He has had a lot of growth in such small parts from DAO to DA2 that I can't wait to see what he is like now.

If he even thinks of handing that number off to another party member that person will not live through the night

Don't be too hasty, it could turn out they were secretly planning a birthday party for you and then you just went and killed off one of your companions for no reason! It could turn into a really embarrassing, unfortunate situation  :P

I know , :D it kind of became something like a safe-haven for most of his fans and also a pleasant thread to be for those who are not that interested in him but are still curious.

To be honest I liked him in DAO because his reactions and behaviour felt real,I think many shy young people could relate to him at some point, despite his small role.
But I must admit that it was in DA2 when I began to appreciate him as a character, mainly due to how he evolves from the shy tortured recruit to the now confident and reasonable knight-captain.
