I do, but I only write and I haven't uploaded anything there yet lol my drawing is pretty abysmal. It seems I can only copy what I see in front of me and not create something my own

everyone needs references, that doesn't mean its a bad thing, u can also improvise upon what you used as a reference and then make it as your own

Naw thanks =) If I had stuck with it when I was younger I probably would have improved. My mother and two of my brothers are drawers, and my dad is the writer so all the artistic mojo runs in the family. But seeing everyone's awesome art work on here is what has inspired me to get into it again

I also tend to use reference images most of the time,so no worries It's not a big deal,in fact many other people do so as well.

^ Yes. When you draw from you head, it just means you have a mental reference before your eyes. It happens when you draw (or study) something a lot. Like, I can paint apples from every angle, because I've been forced to draw fruits for years when I was in school.

Just to add something about drawing : I don't see where is the problem with using references. Most of artists do. It is even recommended. Artists who claim they never use any ref are liars or aliens. For example, you don't improve your anatomy knowledge just like that... Drawing nude posing models is the best way to learn...
I started with an anatomy book. I could draw a half naked Cullen without any ref just recently. But it needs practicing before. And practice requires refs.

Well said! I completely agree on this. I have a Master's degree in art and I know from experience that using references is very important especially when you are learning. It also helps when you are trying to depict human/ animal anatomy accurately.

What people seem to get confused is using a reference as a base for your original art and simply copying something/everything from a reference picture. When you use references always use more than one picture; mix things up and change poses slightly. That way even if you have used a reference for the basic shape/ position/ lighting it won't be identical.

More to topic: what color hair do you think Cullen has? It feels like it changes a lot between the games (probably because of the lighting). I can't decide if I think his hair is blond or sort of ginger/ strawberry blond. Maybe even light brown.

I usually like it as honey blonde so pretty dark blonde with some golden colour there if that makes sense.

I wonder if that color hair goes silver or white with age? We talked a little about the possibility of Cullen going gray the other day. I don't think it's likely he'll have any gray hair in the game but it would be a nice way (one of many) to point out how much time has passed between the games.

I don't remember him being anything other than grey myself, but I remember hearing conversations about how, because his hair was blonde, the greying was so gradual that he just "woke up one day" grey headed.

 

My point to all of that is that I wonder if it would be like a gradual fading of the blonde into the grey/white/silver.  *ponder*

This sounds very logical. I suppose the change is more notable in darker shades of hair. Cullen would likely get white hair then. So no silver fox elderly Cullen for us?

I think it goes lighte rather slowly. I don't think blond hair colours get dramatically silver or white like darker hair colours or so I have seen it to be ^^

I think it's dark blond. It does funny things when lighting changes. The hairs also look interesting under microscope (we totally compared all our hair under microscope back in the uni), it's transparent, and when you have thick hair, it looks darker. When it's dark - it looks darker. When it's dirty or wet - it looks darker. It also doesn't hold the pigment well under the sunlight, so I thought that's what made Cullen look more blond in DAII - he was spending more time outdoors, and sun bleached his hair a bit.

When greying such hair goes straight into white, I think, because, again, it doesn't hold the pigment well, and doesn't have a lot of it. 

When people start greying - I think it's genetics and some other factors, like stress. I don't know about the former regarding Cullen, but he had a lot of the latter, so I wouldn't be surprised if he has white temples now, although the hair there will be transparent, and it won't be very obvious.

Other than Cullen's obvious sheltered opinion of the race, how do you think he'd interact with Iron Bull? I can imagine there being a lot of tension there, seeing, at least from first impressions, Iron Bull doesn't seem like someone who commits to causes easily. His 'cause' is his next pay check, judging from the leak and the like. Cullen on the other hand seems all about duty and such.

Well, considering that the first real interaction he's had with them was what happened in Kirkwall, I'm sure that left a pretty terrible impression on him. It's possible that he met Sten, but he wasn't in his right mind at the time, so there's a good chance Sten didn't even register.

 

However, we also know that even though he can be cautious, he's not one to paint every individual with the same brush. I'd say it would first depend on how open minded Iron Bull is. If he's stubborn and stoic and not willing to engage in conversation, I don't see them getting along well. If he's outspoken and inflexible about how things are "supposed to be" there could be a lot of animosity between them.

 

Interesting to think about though.

I don't want to know everything...I do not want to be spoiled as to the plot. I really will not look at the screenshots of the places because I want to be surprised when I am actually there. I just want a little more info on all 9 companions and 3 ad visors. Little background but not much and to know who all the LI are...you know just the little things.

 I do admire willpower...mainly because I have very little.  I know that I will be seeking out and watching every single little DAI thing I can possibly find.  I can tell myself I won't, but I know myself too well....

I think I will try to not spoil myself on anything big and plot related- for the first 5 minutes then I'll break and drown myself in spoilers! It just seems to happen with me And I will soak up everything even remotely Cullen related like a sponge.

What I am most interested in is news about the companions, advisors and other characters. I don't really care for gameplay info that much (I can wait for that until I play the game) but I like to know as much as I can about companions and even small stuff the plot. But I'm going to try and not spoil myself badly if they reveal big plot related info. I did that with ME3 and paid the price

 

Edit: I forgot romances! I really want to know who we will be able to romance!
