I HATE spiders! Everything else, I'm alright with.
Also, bears will "f*** you up"
Already been there and done that in Skyrim. What I get for being all "screw that, let's explore!" at a low level. ![]()
Party banter is "especially good this time. whoo"
I don't mind bears
And then...
Edit: My quote didn't work. Still trying to figure out the new forum system. I'm referencing the general discussion about their only being 3 warrior spots available for the party.
Double Edit: Sorry if someone's already proposed this, I didn't realize there were already so many pages! (I was still on page 9) ![]()
I'm thinking there's a way around this. What if, you can only get IB as a follower if you are also a qunari? Maybe that's the only way he would join the party. If you're not a qunari, you'd get Cullen to fill the warrior spot instead?
A girl can dream, right?

Everything was fine until you showed up!......Kill it with fire!

But I wanted to romance Cullen with my qunari mage! XD I have whole character planned out already XD
Maybe Grey warden is going to be NPC and advisor? I still hope Cullen is companion ^^

I kind of hope so too.....
Da#n Hannah that's hardcore!
It worked. I hardly find it a trigger at all anymore, only occasionally when I catch a glimpse of a moving silver car out of my right-side peripheral vision (specifically.)
And I completely adore my own silver car! ![]()
I think there is many different ways Bioware can go with his character and I wonder which way he's going to grow between games. Cullen might be part of red templars or against them. He might be templars side in the mage-templar war or trying to stop whole war from happening. He might blame mages for what happened in Kirkwall or realise that templars were the one's wrong. Cullen might have grown stronger, less naive and more independent between the games or then he might be still broken and easily swayed. I think there is just many possible ways that Bioware can go with him but I hope that he will be stronger and happier character ^^
I think that over the course of DA2, Cullen has already demonstrated that he has become stronger and more independent than he was when he arrived in Kirkwall. I don't think that is likely to backslide, particularly after the Meredith incident - I don't think it would be a logical character progression for him to become more dependent after seeing the leader he followed fall apart and having to stand up to her.
I think Cullen is likely to be braver and more independent-minded than he was originally, not less so.
Maker I hope he pursues the romance, like Alistair did. Coming after you like a train wreck!!! I loved that the most with Alistairs romance.
I liked that too. Initially, my Warden propositioned Alistair and he ever-so-politely shot her down. She was still attracted to him, but decided the ball was in his court for the next move after that.
I liked that he actually made that move. It felt realistic that the PC wasn't always the one making the decisions and determining the course of the romance.
I hope the Cullen romance has some of the same give-and-take.
- When did you first meet Cullen (e.g. as Amell/Surana, in the Broken Circle quest, or in DAII)?
- What was your first impression of Cullen?
- When did your impression of Cullen change (if ever)?
1.) I played the games out of order, so my first impression of Cullen was from DA2.
2.) My first impression... please don't hate me, guys, but my first impression was that Cullen was a pretty big arsehole.
I mean, the first time I saw him was when he was trying to intimidate Wilmod, so I wasn't seeing him at his best. I thought he was just a bully.
3.) My impression changed almost immediately, when we'd fought Wilmod and my Hawke got to talk to Cullen - the real Cullen, not the tough guy facade. The switch was pretty abrupt. Suddenly I found myself feeling really sympathetic for him, that he was in a pretty impossible situation where he felt entirely helpless, and how deeply he seemed to care about his men. I was intrigued by him. I wanted to find out more about what made this earnest, worried templar guy tick.
And that was that, really.
I've liked him ever since. He's so flawed, but I find him so human and sympathetic nonetheless.
Maybe it's a silly thing to ask but i wondered: Why do most of you take his affection for a female Mage of either race as just a (childish) crush and not something with more substance/meaning behind it?
I do think it was crush (as opposed to a relationship) because of their lack of direct interaction. I don't think it was childish at all. I actually think it was pretty mature of Cullen to recognize the reasons it was unlikely to work, and to choose not to pursue it.
I think it has meaning in the sense that it was a contributing experience in making Cullen who he is, and to me as player it shows that he has the capacity to be open-minded and accepting if he's able to move past his fears and bitterness.
I don't think it was fated love or anything, though. It was a crush that unfortunately ended badly. I think by this point Cullen is ready to move on and have a relationship with someone else.
Awwww! I didn't think about that!
I think someone's gonna' be on the 'losing' end no matter what. I think I'm so willing to toss GW out for IB and Cullen is because I don't know anything about him- he might end up being one of the most interesting characters that I'll end up going, "Wow, I can't believe I thought about kicking him to the curb." Now, if they told me GW was Nathaniel Howe...well, I could get on board with that.
(I know he's not. Le sigh.)
please delete that, please i'm really begging you.

What do you mean by that, if I may inquire?
They were talking in the panel about how they all loved party banter, and said it was especially good in Inquisition.

Ugh, same. I absolutely loved that about Alistair. I loved everything about Alistair. I loved how tender his voice would go, at times, like when he was remembering something sad, or when he was falling in love with the PC. Steve Valentine's voice acting was beyond perfect. He never seemed like he was just some guy reading lines - there was no VA, it was just Alistair.
I hope Cullen and his VA are half as good! ![]()

Glad to know that they're as enthusiastic as we are when it comes to that.
