I'm thinking...what if we play as Leliana at some point, or as Cullen or as Scribe girl. Kind of like how you play catwoman for a bit in the batman game. Or how you played Varric when he enters that house in DA2. But there could be a specific reason for it. Perhaps to show us their point of view on something, or to show us what they went through to get to our Inq...hmmm

The thing is, she wasn't technically damselled, because she was the player character. She was imprisoned, but not for long, and she was never totally, one hundred percent helpless at the end of the day. It appears like she is there in that trailer.

Hmm.. Maybe I'm remembering something someone else said as fact instead of what actually happened. She said she endured a traitor's punishment and that she was tortured but that's all that I remember. I can't keep up. XD

I don't know; I'm not in favor of defeatist attitudes like that to be honest. I mean it is up to the artists, writers, and developers to make positive changes when it comes to such tropes. 20 years ago these games would probably have a single female character, a princess for us to rescue. Look how far we've come.
