I haven't played through a game twice yet (except, like, Pokémon when I was a little kid) but I will totally do a second DAI run as a fem qunari warrior if there's another LI I like besides Cullen.

There just wasn't much to reply to the way you phrased it, and it's a discussion we've had a lot so many of us are talked-out on it. Many of us feel that his failure to really act against Meredith until the end makes him a more realistic and interesting character, though of course also a worse person.

Seriously though. I think he has potential to be a deep character. It's just hard to interject here. Everyone seems to want to jump his bones.

Just finished DA2 again. One thing I hate about Cullen is that he only grows a conscience at the very last minute, after a lot of mages were killed (either by his men and/or Orsino). Why not be the voice of reason when Orsino makes that last plea to Meredith, and tells her she can search the tower and arrest everyone peacefully?
Just saying. Not trying to spoil the party here. I'm still curious what part he'll play, but he has an uphill climb as far as I'm concerned. It'll be interesting if he somehow wins me over.
I think it's hard to go back and talk about DA2 when we can talk about brand new reveals about DA:I.
I think there are many answers to your questions, the simplest being: if he'd done it earlier, he would be the hero of the story. This is besides all the very human doubts he has before the ending, that he also expresses to Hawke along the way, particularly in Act 3. I think he's just human, like the rest of us, not the superperfect hero of the story. And that's why many of us find him interesting.

Perhaps.
Maybe it's better to not talk anyways. Best to fumble through the story when the game comes out.

Cullen and Morrigan may have banter. OH MAKER I can't wait to see this!
What if this is part of that Cullen story arc Mike Laidlaw tweeted about?

There some that want DHMG or even Viv if she is available. We like him because he is complex. He does what he believes a Templar should do. With Meredith it is at least to me that is the point he truly saw how far she had gone.

This is really well put. The human element-the utter "This is how a real man would act" of Cullen's actions is what makes him compelling for a lot of us.

lol sorry we get going sometimes and it's hard to stop. To answer your post. I agree that he should of stood up to Meredith sooner but he may of not had the courage at that moment, and I would think that he has changed since what happened at Kirkwall, perhaps he quit the Templar order soon after what happened.Uh.. so yeah.. I think my post got lost... among the Romance discussion. Does anyone actually talk about Cullen here?

You what I would love, for her to be a total cow about the events in the Circle to him. Or just have a very atypical of Morrigan moment of sympathy for him, One of the two. Or both!

Ugh i can't wait to see the demo tomorrow! :'D Pretty sure we don't get screwed over like we did today. /glares at spike
Now that i think about it and look at the screengrabs again, we did get quite a good share of Cullen today eh, albeit most of them were tiny since he was so far away.
I've been up since it started and it's 8am here now, but I doodled a Cullen while waiting for Ubisoft. ^^ (im sorry, i drew him way smaller than he actually is /facepalm)

YOU GUYS
.@AarynFlynn I think you said some people were asking for this? http://twitpic.com/e5ttgy
LOOK HOW MUCH TALLER THAN DORIAN SHE IS!!!!!!!
OMG! I haven't gotten a chance to fangirl over Dorian here. Cannot WAIT to meet him in person. I do wish the other characters had gotten a highlight, too... pout.
But here's my thought... what if the slight woodenness of some of them in the War Table pic is because some of their animations aren't done. Like, maybe that's why we've only seen Iron Bull from the back, or why Cullen was wearing a helmet??
