May I ask what you are going to do in the coming game?  The Frostbite engine is notoriously hard to mod, and the devs have stated that they aren't releasing a tool kit for Inquisition.  I do feel bad for those that have arachnophobia on the forums because of this.  <sincere hug>

 

Oh and it's Cullen still "unconfirmed as a companion but confirmed as a LI," or has his status as a potential party member been cleared up?

So let's say the Cullen romance turns out to be everything we've ever hoped for and more. Will you still try to romance others in future playthroughs? Or will you stick with your one true love?

 

I don't think I've managed to romance anyone other than Alistair in DAO. I was a little more open in DA2 but still mostly stuck with Anders. If Cullen is amazing, I might not be able to resist him??

I guess playing with the tactical camera on might be easier than playing in a third view camera (expecially since it seems the latter will more closer on the characters and enemies than before).

I always try to romance everyone. Though I haven't yet in DAO and DA2.. I have just finished DAO 3 times and DA2 two times although I have like 10 characters in both ^^; But anyways I will try everyone but Cullen for sure is first. Maybe second as well XD For sure I need to romance Cassandra in some point but maybe return to Cullen after that ^^;

I will probably have to wait to play the game, someone might make a "spiders warning guide" letting arachnophobes know what areas to avoid or I will let my husband play for me.

 

Usually though the modding community are really quick at creating spider morph mods. The first mod to hit is always a nude mod and straight after that there will be a spider mod. So perhaps 2-3 days after release.

 

Now I do have some insight to Frostbite because of "reasons". It will probably be easy to reskin (taking away all colour - just leaving them completely black or white), but that leaves the body and animation. On Frostbite modding will be even harder than DA2. Everything is packages tightly in large chunks of stuff that makes no sense. To actually get to the files the modders need to crack open some files and dig in until they find the stuff they need. It won't be easy, might not even be legal, but I have seen some amazing hacks on Frostbite. So what I need is ONE modder who is a genius of extracting, understaning the file content, scripting and cracking. Belive me, there are some amazing modders out there.

 

I am thinking I should start campanigning BW for a "spider morph DLC" (free ofc). Make them larvae (larvae makes webs and can be poisonous). I just need to figure out how to run that campaign.

I tend to make a PT for all the available LI:s, unless there is someone that I don't click with. The favorite LI:s get additional PT:s. I enjoy seeing something new every now and then. Really looking forward to seeing how the romance plays out with Cullen. Mind you, my first PT usually fails in all romatic pursuits. Dumped by Alistar, then again by Fenris. Hmm, Jacob was another surprise lol. Jupp, it almost makes me want to go for someone else first just to play it safe.

Have you tried to actively face your fear using a medium such as video games? Would feeling like a total god with those pesky spiders at your complete mercy help at all?

 

I don't know who your avatar is, but I can actually see her as some sort of almighty spider queen She doesn't have to be afraid of anything, because she can kick their a$$ way before they know what hit them!!

Hmm I don't have any problem with that. I mean I never play as myself I made characters in my head and then play them ^^; Though Zevran's and Fenris' romances are my favs so I have always urge to romance them just cause their romances are so good XD

Well, I make all different kinds of characters in these games, and already have characters planned for Inquisition, so I'll definitely have someone for each LI option so I can see their romance story. Who romances who, though, depends on the characters. I let them decide.

Hehe I was bro-dumped by Alistair in my first playthrough. I was a male, hoping for a good friendship with him in place of a romance, and he ended up hating my guts really early on! And after a certain point it became impossible to improve his friendship rating. Utter, complete failure.. *sigh* Here's hoping things go smoother with Cullen.

Same here....they all seem to look at my PC with that....'But what about us?' look.

Iff one character and romance path perfectly hits my sweet spot, then no, I find it really hard to complete a romance with another character. I do try to explore other romances but it never gets very far. So far it's happened like that in almost every Bioware game for me that had multiple options, DA2 being the only one whereby no character/romance hit that spot at all. So should Cullens be done on such a way as to hit that same 'sweet spot', then I can't see me doing anything different to what i've done before.

I have tried. I can have better or worse periods of phobia, but it won't actually go away. I even payed once to go to a zoo where yu could work on your fear, hold spiders etc. It didn't work and I was worse after that. Funnily enough I am fine with arachnids like scorpions and crabs, but spiders...
