I have tried. I can have better or worse periods of phobia, but it won't actually go away. I even payed once to go to a zoo where yu could work on your fear, hold spiders etc. It didn't work and I was worse after that. Funnily enough I am fine with arachnids like scorpions and crabs, but spiders...
I thought you were just meant to slowly progress to holding spiders and moving up when you no longer feel anxiety. Starting just by thinking and talking about them, then seeing a picture, then being around one, etc
