I'm listening to the trailer again and I swear it sounds like the inquisitor has a stuffed up nose. Couldn't they have waited for him to get over his cold before recording?

D'awww! I was just listening to it again... thinking, DAYAM, I wish that was Nathaniel Howe.

I thought Solas was official? I'm sure one of the devs confirmed it... christ, I should pay more attention to the DAI videos I make, LOL!

I think Gaider just corrected the spelling from the German magazine that called him "Solace" or something, and everyone took it as a confirmation that he exists, along w/ all the shots of him running around w/ Cass and Varric.

This is who I feel :)

Its definitly reasonable not to give up on Cullen. The amount of dialogue that Greg has recorded just seems too huge for an npc (even for an advisor type)

Still rooting for you gals :)

Well there's always the American voice, if the cold still hasn't gone come release!

True! I think he just sounds funny in the trailer. I can't imagine them picking a VA who sounds stuffed up constantly.

I thought this as well.  He was pictured with the group in magazines, screen shots and the Discover the Dragon Age video.

That's true, he was in the Discover Dragon Age video, wasn't he. But then... could there be a chance he's just a temp companion, or whatever?  I mean, he seems pretty solid, but...

If anyone's a temp companion it's probably that Grey Warden.

I think Gaider just corrected the spelling from the German magazine that called him "Solace" or something, and everyone took it as a confirmation that he exists, along w/ all the shots of him running around w/ Cass and Varric.

And then DG got incredibly defensive about the comments regarding Solas' baldness, which made people think he was Solas' writer, and that Solas was therefore a companion, yadda yadda. I guess on retrospect it's a lot of assumption, yet I still feel like after Cass, Viv, and Varric, he's the most "confirmed" of our companions.

And really, once we know more about how imports will work, and whether or not Hawke and the Warden will make an appearance (that's still up in the air, right?), I'm going to hold off replaying my DA:O canons. The game is just too overwhelming! Also I pulled it up a few nights ago and it's just so hard to make an elf who doesn't look like he has a tiny pinhead lol

Well apparently the new CC is really powerful. Hopefully my Emma Caulfield lookey likey elf will be possible. But more than anything I want a better look at how elves look in this game, for crying out loud!

I guess if he is an npc then he's an important one. Perhaps that's an indication that the interaction we'll get with him both in terms of just talking/working with him and romancing him will be better than what we experienced with the romanceable npcs in ME3.

Yeah I'm really pleased about Solas for that reason alone: finally got to see what a male elven body looks like (and I really like it). I need to go back and look at that screenshot from the magazine to get a closer look at the face, size of the ears, etc. It's just so hard to look past the shiny bald pate and Nick Cage facial features lol

I'm of the opinion that, unlike in ME3, if Cullen is an NPC, he will be vital to the DAI experience. As in, we cannot get around him, we have to talk to him. He's non-optional (which will *tick off some people). Which is very different from Steve and Samantha, whom you could go the entire game without having a conversation with. Well, except once with Samantha.

EDIT: Double-negatives! And other grammar issues.

EDIT pt2: It is really weird to romance someone with your name, btw.

This is what I am hoping, too. (If he is, in fact, an NPC.) I can't imagine if Leliana is also an important NPC that we'll be able to play the whole game without ever speaking to her. I'm sure there will be pivotal cut scenes where both these characters are engaging the PC. Perhaps we'll have just as many conversation opportunities with Cullen as we will with Viv or Cass (at the base). Perhaps he'll even react to the things we've done while out on the field. (Isn't this supposed to be what drives the romances now?)

Well they've always said that they wouldn't let us just romance whoever we want for the sake of it, so there's obviously a good solid reason for him to be a romance option. Plus, anyone who has been romanceable in the past have all been of some importance even if you could kill them off, so it sounds like we'll have a lot of interaction with him, even if he isn't a companion.

I guess if you think about it, we won't be able to have conversations just anywhere we want anymore anyway, so already it's not like we'll be missing out on much. Sounds like most of the decent convos will occur back at base anyway.

Cullen wasn't really suggested as a companion in the leaked survey.  He just turned up in the concept art like Scribe Girl did.

I know. I was putting out all suggested characters, hence the inclusion of Leliana and Scribe Girl as well.

Grey Warden COULD just be a red herring they've used in concepts because Cullen would be giving too much away...

I wish I could like this several more times. All this speculation is natural, especially given how this week has gone in Cullen news. But the assumption that this supposed Grey Warden that we haven't seen in ANYTHING in, what, nearly a year? is a definite companion seems odd to me.

IF we are going to speculate, I think it would be a pretty easy stretch to see Cullen as companion over anyone that hasn't explicitly been named, simply *because* he's been outed as a love interest.

That aside, I am just super happy he's going to be in the game, and right this second, I am more interested in seeing how amazing he looks than I am in random possibilities. We already have way more than I expected. :D

Disclaimer: I'm not saying don't speculate, or anything like that-I am just giving my own two coppers. :D

Still, it would be a shame to deny Cullen banter with the other companions.

Oh but it's important to point out that the Grey Warden was used on the BW blog a few weeks (or months?) back to show how armor works (alongside Cassandra).
