If we don't get to see how weaning off lyrium addiction works on Cullen (And I feel like he'd be just the perfect character for it), I hope we get to see someone else going through it. It'd make a nice side story. 

 

I think it'd add some nice angst in the game.. however I don't think paranoid and delirious general is good for Inquisitor's army

I am actually really interested in his Lyrium addiction. It would be good for comparison with: If this is what normal lyrium does to someone, then there is probably no hope for the Templar's that are using the red lyrium.

 

I also think it would be a conflicting factor in a romance with him for anyone that chooses him as their LI.

 

But then, they may have decided not including him having a lyrium addiction in his personal arc.

Yeah, it's hard to say how lyrium addiction will figure in. Since he's (probably) not a follower, it's unlikely that it would end up being a big storyline since there are bigger plot things they'll have to spend his word budget on. It's too bad, really, because a templar companion would have been an interesting way to learn more about it.

Of course, we may still learn more about lyrium addiction by seeing the extremes effects of the red lyrium on the red templars.

Time will tell.

There has been different theories but I think most popular is that he has stayed as Chantry-loyal templar when most of templar order has declared war against Chantry and there is red templars all over. Inquisition has also motto: "Whatever we were before, now we are Inquisition." So in this sense I think Cullen is currently serving Inquisition at the moment and taking vacation from templar business I'd imagine him being really templar like still, being wary of apostates and dangers of magic. I wonder if Chantry has him supplied with lyrium, if it doesn't I think he will suffer quite much from lyrium withdrawal which would weaken him.. no most likely he gets lyrium somewhere, smugglers or Chantry.

As far as Cullen, it's hard to say without knowing what he's been up to for three years. But, certainly the "popular" theory is that he has remained loyal to the Divine, as opposed to being part of the now independent Templar Order. So in that sense, it's hard to imagine him still being a templar, particularly given his lack of DA:I templar regalia. How that translates into becoming part of the Inquisition, and leading its military pillar, upon her demise is anyone's guess.

I agree, just because he has removed himself from the Templar order I highly doubt he would have done the same with the divine. I have always seen him as having a strong religious belief. And to even think of all the possible ways he could end up becoming our military adviser........ there's just so many of them I don't even want to speculate on it or I'd loose days in a trance like state.

That sounds like the must likely. Especially since (according to the AusGamer interview) reforming the Inquisition was the Divine's plan B should things go ****** up, makes sense the pillars of the Inquisition be Divine loyalists.

He does seem to be very religious or atleast very loyal to the chantry he serves. I wonder how much this will come up in his romance?

Of course the whole "will hop into bed with anyone" could simply be a way to describe his character, and not a hint at his being a LI at all.

 

I will say that if IB is a LI, that throws all over predictions out the window!

I've been quietly letting go of Cullen for some time now.

I don't think BW will want to go down that road again explaining and defending why he only pursued the F!Mage. So it's reasonable that they just go with what they have. (BUT I WOULD LOVE IT IF THEY MADE CULLEN COME OUT OF THE CLOSET AND THAT'S A WHOLE THING HOW HE NEVER EVER DARED THINK THAT HIS FEELINGS FOR M!MAGE WAS AN ATTRACTION.)

I think you're misunderstanding. The reason people are theorising that Iron Bull might be bisexual is because his description says that he'll will jump into bed with "anyone" rather than using a specific gender like "any woman" or "any man". The fact that he's a man-wh0re is a moot point.

This is true but I think people are taking it from: anyone since it's not from any woman and I think there is many people who want to romance him as guys. So I don't think many are: he sleeps around a lot, he must be bisexual! , they might be just happy cause this means he is sleeping with people and it doesnt' seem to be gender limited from that text. If that makes sense. I think quite many people are tired of stereothype in DA with bisexuals being very sexually active.
