Going back a few pages about the theme song for Cullen (I can't find the quote), has anyone realised that you can replace the word "Lithium" in the Evanescence song with the same name to a certain substance used by a certain templar (or all of them, but particularly this templar)  ;)

Do we know Cullen's first name?

It's Cullen. What we lack it's his surname.

Hopefully! Mine is off Grey Wardening with Alastair, so she'd still be off limits anyways.

And hopefully mine is off queening it up :P

So hopefully in DA:I we'll learn his whole name, I'm surprised we haven't yet.

Well, DG tweeted that he found out Cullen's last name, so I assume we will at some point. Also, Greg Ellis said he'd ask if he could share that information with us at the next VO session (this weekend, I believe).

I think I need to make Amell.. I have done like 5 but never finished any of them ^^; I want to make one that looks like my canon Hawke so they really look like cousins :D And I really hope Cullen will mention Amell and her cousin too in the DAI, would be great lore-wise XD

I always thought it was either because he never knew his family or because he rose up from poor upbringings and perhaps had a fallout with his family... That's just my opinion, though.

They're equals--really, Cassandra is more prestigious and is certainly a better person. Having her come across as helpless-ish here does not leave me with a good vibe at all.

Could be worse, to me the image looks like a comrade giving an injured friend help. It's not like she's been portrayed as the damsel in distress or the fainted/unconscious girl being carried to safety, more like the noble wounded warrior (IMO)

i just assume it never came up because there wasn't much time for small talk in between skirmishes with various nutjobs and lowlifes.

You  know, a dinner party at Hawke mansion DLC could have cleared up a lot of these missing little details!

I hope it's something cute, like Cullen Bear.

Na, I have no idea. I just hope it sounds as good as Cassandra Pentaghast :P I was always disappointed with Alistair's last name.

I like Chantry Foundling or Farm Boy with Stars in His Eyes origins for Cullen.

It would actually kind of ruin his character for me if he were royal or nobility of some kind.....i like the idea of modest upbringings. ^\\\^

imho I don't think he's nobility, I think he's very humble, perhaps too humble to be.

Not that no nobles are humble, he just never struck me as one

My husband and I were talking about this last night. He was all, "What are you going to do if his last name is Theirin?" I told him I would flip every table in the house. haha :D

I like the idea of a rural kid wanting to protect all of Thedas in the Maker's name, or something. *grin*

Somehow I think that Cullen didn't have tragic childhood based how he is in the beginning of the DAO. Probaply he had either normal family or then was raised in chantry where his life still was rather happy ^^

That's what I always thought. Cullen had a very pleasant, happy childhood. His life didn't go to hell until he was an adult.

I imagine farm boy upbringing with the dream to protect Thedas and then hashes it out with his parents. Which then leads teen! Cullen to seek out his dream and run off to join the templars. I can almost imagine a group of templars visiting his small village, him spotting them, and getting all starry eyed. It's a really adorable image :3

Seriously. I prefer playing RPGs as a warrior but I played Mage in DAO strictly because that was the only way to be human and not noble. I could imagine the reason for Cullen being in the Chantry is that he's some noble's bastard but I doubt they'd rehash that one.

He was taken in by Arl Eamon and raised by him, yes, but the Arl's wife treated him like dirt. Before I found out who his real father was, I figured it was because the Arl stumbled upon an abandoned baby one day who's parents had been killed by bandits or something and took him in. *shrugs*

Maybe Cullen is Alistair's and Cailan's half brother? It seemed like Maric got around a little and some say that Alistair's supposed mother isn't actual his mother but that there is another half prince..

Nah I don't really think this but intresting though XD
