So this part:

"This is the biggest cast of characters we’ve ever had, so there’s nine followers and then three specialists. These are the people who actually help you run the Inquisition."

I'm wondering... what exactly will Cullen be running? Will he be the 'general' we've heard mention of? Is he training the troops at 'home'? Is he deploying the troops? Off fighting with the troops. How does he help you 'run' the Inquisition?

Someone said/hinted he's your military forces, no?

I have been wondering this as well. If he is off running around with his troops does that me he constantly ends up in different camps/keeps that we have set up....The whole system of building your army and power is going to have me off by a million miles.

I'm looking at Cullen-lion with my little cousin and now she's freaking out. "Why does Cuwwen have an aminal head?! What happen to his head? Did they take his head?! Is he a tiger now?" It's so cute. She's like a mini Cullenite.

yeah, but not doing something that shows why you're there or anything, just BOOM. You probably won't even know why your character was at the Temple of Sacred Ashes.

I'm actually ok with the game starting that way, to be honest. Makes things interesting. *grin*

I am super curious about this as well.  It will be awesome when they finally are ready to talk about the specialists. :)

That is so cute. If only my kids like actual characters all I get is "Mommy Kill it kill the dragon!!!" "Mom are you gonna play the dragon game now pleasssssseeee"

For awhile i had to start a new game every day of DA2 just so my oldest could act out the part of Cassandra and I had to play Varric....aww DA memories

LOL Or I'm having a new image of the Inquisitor in his hawaiian shirt, saying in his best Jeff Spicoli, "Catch ya later, Specialist Dudes!" Grabbing his surf board and jetting out the door.

Cullen gives a deep disapproving sigh.

Scribbles gasps in dismay. "Not again!"

Leliana just shakes her head. "So as you were saying, Cullen, what move shall the Inquisition make next?"

I think it is possible for him to do all three..Though in the trailer we've seen him out in the field with his troops(sort of)which is what I'd prefer the most to be honest.I'd like him to participate in the more important battles at least,I''d certainly prefer if the advisers to be more interactive rather than staying back in the keep all day.

I also have this theory, that Cullen is considered a pillar because he actually provides the Inquisition with his own troops(whether he formed this supposed military faction himself or it was formed by the divine is another subject),as a result a large part of our armies are in fact his, in a way,not to mention the way they cheer for him in the trailer.
Otherwise, we could kick him out of the Inquisition whenever we wanted and the same applies for the other 2 advisers.

So as I said earlier, I think that if this is indeed the case, it would make more sense for him to be the one to lead them in battle, the more important ones if not every every single battle.

LOL Me, too. It'll be interesting. I figure we'll learn about our background during chargen, but probably not the immediate scenario for that day. I wonder if they'll give us some kind of cludgey amnesia for why we don't know. Or if we'll have a sort of first person perspective blinders on, where our character may know, but we the player do not know what we were doing there.

Amnesia is pretty cliche... but could make for some interesting romance beats.

Morning, guys! Has anything interesting happened?
I'm sorry I can't catch up right now, the entire town is having problems with Internet, it's awfully slow! :( I can't even see any pictures, they just won't load.

I thought about something. Do you remember we have a lion head symbol on our map and a fist symbol? What if the fists show our military presence in the region, and the lion shows where we sent Cullen on a mission? And the same with other advisors.

Edit: Hear him roar!

I have thought of this as well, it could be possible that after the Templar's parted form the Chantry and the use of red lyrium begun that he could be collecting stray Templar's that want nothing to do with all the corruption, and would essentially be their General

You know, I'd forgotten about that idea, that the advisors would bring their own troops or whatever to the table. I used to figure that we would need to garner the support of those factions. I wonder. I guess that would require him to have troops. Perhaps the few remaining Divine-loyal templars?

I do wonder what those templars would do. I doubt most of them were stationed in Val Royeaux, so are they isolated at their individual Towers and Chantries when everyone around them leaves to go join the mage-templar war? Would they make their way to Val Royeaux to throw themselves on the mercy of the Sunburst Throne?

Mmm, yeah, I dunno. The lion is one of the few things that changed at "Griffon Wing Keep" when they upgraded it military-style, along with the pointy fist thing. But it's the only place they've shown the lion. It could be that the lion is combined with the pointy fist as the overall symbol for the military pillar. I would be surprised if it were such a transient feature as having sent Cullen there since the keep acquires a whole sandstone mountain carved into a lion.

Yeah it does seem that the fist and lion are a combined symbol for the military rather than the lion being specifically related to just Cullen. Nice to see that Iron Bull is supervising like a pro in the last picture :D

Just caught up!

Aha! This is something I already wrote about in one of my stories; poor Leliana it seems will take Justinia's death quite hard. More evidence that Divine bites it.

"Her and Cassandra form the Left and Right Hand of the Divine, so she’s been in a more direct role, coming up to the events that start Dragon Age Inquisition. So the very opening of Dragon Age Inquistion has a big impact on her in particular. She definitely has a very strong connection to the Chantry, and with what happens, the Chantry is in chaos, and that really affects her. A lot of what you’re seeing is her reacting from those events."

I imagine Leliana will potentially be one of those who take what the Inquisitor went through as a sign from the Maker, versus Cassandra's much more suspicious view.

So sounds like scribe girl's back in play for a romance.  Ha that will teach ML to use plurals!  So I'm going to update my crazy lady list of who I think is romancable and under what criteria.  I actually have a word doc - it's got a table and everything!

Anyway the crux of the list boils down to my thinking that the Iron Bull and Varric might form 1/2 each of a whole ungated romance with IB only available for the taller Qunari/Human character and Varric only interested in Dwarf/Elf partners.  Though I'm not really sure about the Varric elf thing, it'll do for a working hypothesis.  I don't think they'll restrict race and gender.  I think it'll be one restriction only per character, so gender or race check + compatible game conversation/action selection will make the romance available.

I really wish there had been more for Cullen this E3.  I suppose Solas and Scribbles really had it the worst but you know, I don't care about them, so yeah more (pretty much anything) Cullen would have been good.

PS - I think you guys are on to something with the advisors and the map.  Sounds likely to me.

I believe that either the divine formed this faction as a means to fight against the red templars or the rebel templars/mages as well, since the inquisitor is shown fighting all three factions in the demos, and Cullen due to being perhaps the only high-ranked templar that witnessed what happened in Kirkwall, was assigned with the task of leading them.
Or he found this faction himself with a few other templars with the goal to destroy the red templars first and foremost, and then that group expanded and became more diverse with more troops of different backgrounds rather than templars, but still dedicated to their cause of destroying the red templars.

I think the first theory is far more likely, since it will explain how Cullen becomes part of the inquisition, since from what we know(correct me if I'm wrong) the reformation of the inquisition was a backup plan by the chantry in first place.

Or new theory!

The upgrade on Adamant Keep gets a big sandstone lion carved into it as a giant Love Letter from the Inquisitor to Cullen!

"Who loves ya, babe?"  :kissing:
