When and where is Gamescom??

14.-17.08.2014. Not sure where it will be though to be honest!

So it's in Germany? Hmmmm! That's not too far from here. Maybe I need to try and grease up the old ball and chain so he would take me there

I think this is the most likely way for his romance to turn out. I have to admit I'm getting a little tired of reluctant LIs though. I wish we would get an LI that pursued us for once. Not just for sex but for love and romance. But that type of romance easily comes across as something you have to do instead of simply being optional content (one of the reasons some people don't enjoy the Liara romance in ME).

 

I can appreciate that, though I would note that this is somewhat in-character for Cullen and that people moaned and groaned when Anders announced his intentions right out of the gate in DA2.

 

Now, if we were talking about Varric or the Iron Bull, I could see those guys being "pursue the PC" types. (Oh sure, Varric has his lost love, but he's also not a sexless Chantry priest. The ladies at the Blooming Rose knew him pretty well, and he flirts lightly with Bethany.)

I can appreciate that, though I would note that this is somewhat in-character for Cullen and that people moaned and groaned endlessly when Anders in DA2 expressed his interest right out of the gate.

Germans (the ones I've met at least) are very polite and nice people and many speak very good English. My father went to a concert there with his brother and friend (all men in their 50s and little to no understanding of German) last summer and they managed well on just English.

 

On a related side note. Why must German be so hard to learn?! I studied it for 6 years and I still can't speak it to save my life! I do love it though.

They never come to any of the games conventions in the UK either. The biggest expense for me to get to Germany would be plane tickets, it's probably too short notice for me to get the money together for it now anyway. Doesn't matter, I just wanna play the bloody game!

Re: helmet. They eyes have holes cut in them, and you can see through them. Kind of like on this one:

It's one of the most famous grotesque helmets, I think. Ignore its hilarious look, just look at how the eyes are made.
I think Cullen's helmet has similar visor, or just 2 holes in place of lion's eyes.
BTW, such helmets cost a fortune, so I don't think Cullen will be wearing it all the time. It's probably for special occasions.

This Helmet belonged to Henry the VIII and It was given as a gift as was the rest of the armour from the emperor of the of the Holly Roman Empire Maximilian I.In the 16th century I believe,and it was made by Konrad Seusenhofer(I don't know If I spelled this one right)

Haha yeah it is. I love it here and I feel super lucky for it to be my country, we just never get any gaming conventions except for Armageddon. I live in a town of about 20,000, an hour and a half drive from the capital city.

I'm currently reading a biography of him by David Loades. Perhaps the helmet makes a cameo   I'm also making a huge embroidery project of Henry and Anne Boleyn and thinking of starting a portrait study on him.

Hehe,I'm actually a prospective student of history and archaeology and I actually begin my studies in September,So I definitely don't find you creepy,trust me!Besides I've been obsessed with historical/mythological figures countless times,myself.

Why are we spoilering? That embroidery project sounds amazing but I have to ask, why Anne? Isn't she generally the least liked out of all his wives? I personally find her much more fascinating and intriguing than his other.......conquests? She is the only one that ever really held my interest.

I've been wanting to do a cosplay on the castless dwarf concept art from DAO for years. I'm super short and somewhat similar looking so it would work really well. I just wouldn't have anywhere to wear it as there are very few gaming events with a tradition of cosplay here

I'll have to show it to you once I finish it then I wanted to study history too at one point but it took a back seat to art. I'm a graphic designer and a portrait artist so my interest in Henry is also very "visual" so to speak. I find how he was pretty much the first monarch to really use things like his portraits as propaganda to be very interesting. Same goes for his palaces with their imagery of him and his son placed among Greek gods etc. Fascinating stuff!

As for Anne in all honesty I chose her because she is visually the most recognizable in the media I'm working on! But she is my favorite too with Catherine of Aragon a close second. If I have the time and money I really want to make a series with all of his wives. And maybe one with his children. It's just super expensive to do :/

 

Here is a very small poor quality picture of the project in this stage. The colors look really dead in the photo so some detail is missing, like Anne's sleeves have red roses embroidered on them etc. Also Henry has no face yet!

I think SHE is the one (in the pic) who tweeted Greg Ellis with my request for him to get in this costume and go through his lines! someone Bioware-y posted it on twitter and tagged someone in it I forget, and I responded to it and then she tweeted Greg about it. I was so embarrassed! Lol! But if he would do it (which I highly doubt) I would just be like

Thank you! I try to learn as many things as I can and embroidering is something that my grandmother wished me to learn so that the art doesn't "die out" with her. It's an old tradition where I'm from. Next thing I want to try is smithing! xD I come from a long line of blacksmiths from my father's side so maybe I'll have some natural instinct on it

Oh my god, that is incredible! I can't wait to see it when it's finished, you have done an amazing job so far. I can't cross stitch without following a pattern very carefully haha and then I'm unpicking all the time because I realize I've made a mistake. You have got some serious talent there!
