someone Bioware-y posted it on twitter and tagged someone in it I forget, and I responded to it and then she tweeted Greg about it. I was so embarrassed! Lol! But if he would do it (which I highly doubt) I would just be like

Do you know if it's true that back when they actually made and wore those kind of things, they were made to look as frightening as possible? Because they wanted to frighten the oponent by using devil/ monster faces? I have to admit I'm not really sure if fear is the right word for what I feel when I look at that helm

Well, these helmets were for tournaments mostly. I'm not sure they have ever been used in real combat, and people who owned them were never simple soldiers. So I think it was just a typical case of dudes showing off

I suspect the technical reason for the lion helmet is purely down to aesthetics, like all that red lyrium suddenly growing in the Fade (red and green looks very striking together, lol). It looks dramatic and adds to his outfit so let's add it in, sorta thing. Of course, the writers would then probably have to come up with reason why he's wearing it and how/why it works with his personality etc.

The helmet looks 200% Orlesian. Even kind of chevalier-y. I wonder if Cullen moved to Val Rouayeruaxsdjkkbaslf after DAII. Or maybe Master Wade captured him, and declared that he won't let him go until he makes him a helmet worthy of his beauty and awesomeness? I can totally see Master Wade making something like that.

The lion is part of Celene's family crest. There is also the Lion of Orlais shield and there were quite a few lion statues in MotA.
Cullen is somehow related to Celene,semi-confirmed rumour...xD
