This is so true,it was until I first played origins that I realized what I want form a RPG,I think bioware spoiled me with all these awesome fleshed out characters.

The two first RPG games I ever Played was Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall, and Diablo and that was when I was very young, maybe around 10-12. Anyway, those being the games I was brought up on I was so excited to get Diablo 3 and even though I did enjoy playing, it just wasn't up to par for me because BioWare has spoiled me so much with me being able to immerse myself into their games............. playing other RPG's just isn't the same.

Oh, I can come up with scenes for it (hence the multiple fics and dialogues I make) but I'm actively not trying to come up with a headcanon about how I think it'll go. Like, if Severus Snape were to try to Legilimens it out of me, he'd have a fight on his hands.

I can certainly come up with scenarios (lord knows I've thought up enough of them!) But I can't physically imagine what it would be like in-game. For example, I can come up with scenarios that lead to the first kiss, but I can't even begin to see it in my minds eye (that might also be because we haven't seen his face properly yet, lol).

I dunno, it feels almost unbelievable that we've finally got him. I feel like it's so close to being mission accomplished! ... The mission actually being accomplished once I've got the bugger locked in!

It is a bit hard to believe, ya? I mean, he's come so far! From that poor dude standing in the corridor who runs away from our mage, to the guy trapped in a pink bubble hating all mages, to Knight-Captain of a pot that's going to boil over. Now, this. I love Cullen's journey to get here. I can't wait to talk to him about it.

For sure! After I finished DA:O and DA2 I started playing Skyrim and The Witcher 2 looking for other RPGs to fill the gap whilst waiting for ME3 and DAI to come out. It just didn't cut it for me, and whilst I did enjoy The Witcher 2 it wasn't the same because Geralt is already a character in his own right, so you can't build your own from scratch... and Skyrim just felt very paper thin to me.

Where BioWare gets it right (in my opinion) is having such character-centric (and in more recent years protagonist-centric) story arcs within their RPGs. It also plays into the whole team work "a group of strangers stumble upon each other, have a grand adventure and become friends" trope that I've always adored in any form of media... probably because I've never really found a good group of solid loyal friends that don't screw you over in real life, LOL!

I remember when I joined the old thread, we all thought that we'd be lucky if we even got a cameo or codex mention of him, LOL!

Exactly! I actually played DA2 before DAO and then I was like Oh my god, I must go and get the first part to this! And then it was like, what other games do bioware do? Wooooooo Mass effect! I even find it hard when I;m playing a game and the PC doesn't talk, I'm so used to it now that I almost can't stand not having it in other games (DAO is the exception)

My arsehole ex recommended I play the Mass Effect games, I'd already decided long before that, that I wanted to play them (without knowing it was BioWare) but I'd seen my friends play them so much that I knew the storyline second hand, so I waited until closer to ME3's release before playing through both so that I'd forgotten enough of the story by that point to fully enjoy it.

Have you guys seen this from the Kotaku article?:

“Four playable races, two genders, and a choice of voices, as well as our unique, brand new facial customization system that offers over a billion possible faces… 21 different combat skill trees… over 250 combat abilities, talents and upgrades, allow you to fight the way you want. 16 million armor combinations that can be equipped on both you and your followers. Craft weapons and armor, going all the way down to customizing the hilt and the blade to make your weapons look the way you want and play the way you want.”

That's A LOT of face possibilities!

They don't even have to release a playable demo if they release a CC before the game launches.

Lol you got some passion there when it comes to your ex  Well at least you have friends that play them! None of my friends are interested at all, my partner puts up with my squeeing in a nods the head but doesn't really listen kind of way. Thank god for one of my brothers, I ring him and gush about the progress of DAI and he listens, he actually listens and contributes to the conversation *sheds tears of joy*

Spoiler

Though I'm super excited that are making a new Mass Effect!

He made my life hell for a long time, even after I left him. On the plus side, if I hadn't dated the **** I never would have found Dragon Age, which means I never would have found this thread or created my YT channel... silver linings 'n' all that!

I reckon they should only release the CC as a demo without any gameplay and stuff. Ideally it would come with a face-code (like ME3) so that we can spend weeks/months beforehand creating and tweaking our Inquisitor and have it ready for when the game ships, so that all we'd have to do is put in the face-code and jump straight into the gameplay.

My only big concern about releasing any kind of demo is the spoilers people can pick off of it. If they do give us one, I hope they scrub it clean!

Yep. Would totally go for that in a heartbeat.   B)
