I'm pretty sure it's going to be in the "Art of Inquisition" book that's coming out when the game is released.

I can certainly come up with scenarios (lord knows I've thought up enough of them!) But I can't physically imagine what it would be like in-game. For example, I can come up with scenarios that lead to the first kiss, but I can't even begin to see it in my minds eye (that might also be because we haven't seen his face properly yet, lol). 

 

I dunno, it feels almost unbelievable that we've finally got him. I feel like it's so close to being mission accomplished! ... The mission actually being accomplished once I've got the bugger locked in! 

I can't imagine what a romance with DAI Cullen will be like, because I don't know DAI Cullen. I have a DAO Cullen in my comic, he's 90% my headcanon, even though I was trying to keep him within the borders of his canon self, but since I knew so little about him, I've made up myself all the rest. So what I imagine may be completely different from what BioWare have created.

Also, what's happening in Thedas will definitely have an impact on the romance, and since I have no idea what will happen, I can't imagine what that will be. Maybe it will be a very restrained thing, until something bad happens, and then you will find Cullen on your doorstep with a confession of eternal love. Maybe we will have to chase him, impress him, seduce him, or make him believe in something. Or maybe it will be just a very sweet, nice and normal relationship (totally don't believe in that, lol, it's BioWare!) And I don't really want to imagine possible scenarios, because if I start doing that, I may get disappointed in what the game has to offer.

I kind of don't want to see all the iterations of DAI Cullen, because there'll probably be one that I think looks more like him than whatever they end up with. Especially if they're trying to make him hotter. Although I'm really encouraged by the stills from the latest trailer with the war table, where it looks like he has wavy hair and a DAOish or at least DA2ish nose.

As for romance, I really hope it's not the "I mustn't because Duty!" thing. I had enough of that with Kaidan. I do hope we see a little bit of vulnerable, pre-Bubble DAO Cullen in it. I imagine him as a very gentle man at his core and I hate to think the previous two games hammered that out of him entirely. But like others have mentioned, trying not to think too much about it so my headcanon doesn't get in the way of the actual game.

My only big concern about releasing any kind of demo is the spoilers people can pick off of it. If they do give us one, I hope they scrub it clean!

One of the devs said recently, definitively, no demo. Nothing on releasing chargen tho.

Experiences do shape a person, but they don't necessarily result in a complete personality change. I'm no psychologist, but it seems as if identity - who the person is when emotion and external goals are stripped away - remains unchanged, regardless of what life throws at them. Goals change, and emotion, how that person perceives life and reacts to it, changes based on experience, but if he was gentle before, he still is, although he may try to repress it. At least that's what I've observed.

I guess I just really like the idea of him being crazy for her/him to the point that he can no longer ignore or hide his feelings/urges for her/him.

What I don't really want is my inquisitor to have to desperately run after him to convince him. I want a lot of subtle hints, nudges, coy flirting, maybe make him a little jealous. No Lena Hyena directness.

Exactly. I want him to be interested from the get go, but I want him to try to hide it and for it to come out in subtle hints over time. He'll have his reasons for being reserved, perhaps he's worried that he'll lose her/him to his war and/or he feels cursed, like everything he's involved in goes to sh!t so he doesn't want to see our protagonist get hurt because of him. I'd also like to see him quite closed off initially (not in a moody, cold way though) because he's had to be for so many years after all he's been through. Add in just a hint of shyness/awkwardness and I'm golden!

Are you sure you can't just write his story for me?

I think we have very similar ideas of what we want and I really hope BioWare thought the same

I like reading what you ladies/gents want the romance to be. Makes for good reading to pass time at work. I really don't want to think to much of what I would like because I don't want to have him on to high a pedestal that nothing bioware does with him will make me happy. Thats just my mind and how it works.
Keep up the wonderful head canons though. Y'all are really good at it. I have never head canon a character before. Plus it never hurts to read anything about Cullen =)

What I'd love to see is a bit of jealousy/slip up of his feelings whilst he's trying to keep them under wraps. Like, an NPC flirts with our protagonist at a ball or whatever and you see him looking visibly annoyed/irked and then says something catty or bitting at the offender, lol.
