LOL No worries. That was from a year or two ago.

I dont know if someone else said this or not but reading another thread made me think of this, wouldn't be awesome and super funny if the first time you meet cullen in the game is him riding in on a white horse and saving you, talk about fantasy cliches come to life(game wise) XD
I wrote a scene like that once for Sebastian showing up on a white horse and my Hawke remarking to herself about how awesomely cliche it was... until I realized that you can't ride horses in Hightown.
Ah, continuity!
Boring? o.O That's crazy. I can see not liking him for his opinions/actions or just feeling apathetic towards him, but.. boring? We meet the guy when he's been tormented by demons to the point of a seething desire for retribution; then he's trying to deal with wayward Templars, willing to rough them up to get answers; a boss who he can't help but admit is losing her frickin' mind and ends up leading a mutiny against....
....dude, if that is someones definition of boring I hate to think what they do for thrills! LOL
(I am addressing that to the people who think he is boring, not you, of course, CA)
For those reasons right there is why I hope we get a strong cullen and not a super damaged one.

ooooooohh okay haha, yeah I never got a chance to read the old cullen stuff. if i did that i would die from old age before finishing.

It's kind of funny how the people who hate him sometimes say the reason they hate him is because he's "so boring." His life's in the games has been anything but so far. But I agree with you; I don't want this whole dramatic backstory; I got that with Fenris and it was great for him, but I don't really want to repeat that. With Cullen, I want to look toward the future
This is very much how I feel about it. Onwards, I say! (probably to wrack and ruin, but still. *grin*)

Coming out of lurking again, to say love the new thread. Followed in the old forums, and then followed when was moved to this site in the DA2 section and saw this new one here today. I am so excited Cullen is confirmed for a LI in DAI. I will defintilely romance him on my first playthrough, but I'm torn if it will be with a Dailish elf mage or a human mage (especially if we are a Circle mage).
Although, I understand about the dramati backstory it still will be cool to see why Cullen became a templar and getting to know him better ![]()
Again I love Cullen--I don't get to post much but I am sure I will be much more active in the forums once the game comes out ![]()
Yeah, I'm on Team Badass Cullen
, definitely. Flaws and character warts are fine (and appreciated, really, for the sake of 'realistic' characters) but I don't want to have to "fix" Cullen... hell, I don't want to have to "Fix" any of the companions (or major NPCs if Cullen ends up falling in that category) -- I'm excited at the idea of our followers/advisors being powerful people with their own organizations and circles, their own people to lead... people who -- for the most part at least - have their **** together, freeing us to either jive or clash with them without it being about them being broken in some way or another.
YES i agree! Im okay with drama but not drama all the time. I dont want to play the role as mommy and have to tell the children to behave and that everything will be okay. I for once would love a character to tell my character that everything will be okay. The main character cant be the only strong one, the main character has drama going on in their life too.
DAVID GAIDER:Oh, you sweet summer child.
The main difference is that this conversation occurs:
"You think we should cut this? We've already mentioned it to the fans. They'll be upset."
"They'll be more upset if the game doesn't ship."
"Err...true. Cutting ahoy!"
Wait.... Wait... WHAT!?!? Is nothing safe? NOTHING? How... wha.... i'm not mad... just.... unsure... I can't... I just can't... what is life?

I like Chantry Foundling or Farm Boy with Stars in His Eyes origins for Cullen.
Personally, I'm a fan of street urchin Cullen that used to pick pockets and ran with a bunch of other orphans until the day he got caught stealing from the Chantry kitchens and was made to work there for the summer as restitution. Having a templar around to pester with questions led him to believe the knights were noble and served a noble cause to protect everyone - mage and non-mage alike - so he chose to do that with his life believing it was a divine calling and all that nonsense the Chantry filled his head with. ![]()

I love it-new head canon!

LOL Whelp... there goes our Cullen romance! ![]()
omg though, seriously, I wonder what it could be!
LOL Whelp... there goes our Cullen romance!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL Whelp... there goes our Cullen romance!
It does sound like it... Guess we'll find out. If that's the case, at least I'll be able to continue writing however I want. I'm terrible with AUs. ![]()
(Although... would they play us? Make us think the worst...? Probably just being too hopeful...)

It's the horse man, it's got to be the horse.
LOL Whelp... there goes our Cullen romance!
Oh, all the love we never had!! Gone! Like a box of cookies left within reach of a four-year-old!
Forsaken! We are forsaken!!!!
No, but, seriously, we're fine, guys. BREATHE.
LOL Whelp... there goes our Cullen romance!
But really though, they could cut anything at anytime, anything we've already thought was happening. I guess it's true that nothing is really confirmed until launch.
I totally understand why and all, but as a fan it's just so scary knowing this. I always thought they waited until stuff was SET IN STONE until they revealed/announced it...
EVERYTHING IS A LIE
It must be something writing related though. It's probably like, a throwaway line from Varric lol
Just a thought, Joesph Morgan as Cullen for the reals? He's got the hair, the beard/stubble, the eyes, the brood for broken!Cullen too.
PICS:
Spoiler
Maybe, maybe not? *goes back to lurking*
BEAUTIFUL.
I can see the resemblance.
Just in case Cullen was cut, I've readied the patented Cullenite flaming pitchforks of DOOM in preparation for the exalted march on Bioware Edmonton.
