For me the "I don't want to be King" stuff seemed to come from a place of low self-esteem,* and since my Amell hated nobles and loved Ferelden it was a matter of both social justice and patriotism for her to want who she thought was the best, most compassionate person for the job. And she might have done it differently if she'd known early on that Anora was an option, but honestly she still seemed like a stuck-up jerk to me in-game, no different from any other upper crust character I can think of offhand except Teagan, even though metagame knowledge says otherwise. (I had no idea how Amell even knew she disliked aristocrats in my original headcanon, although after DA2 it's convenient to assume she was bitterly jealous because she'd been supposed to be one and probably remembered having ponies, mabari, etc. as a little kid until the Templars came for her).

 

My first Warden, my Dalish Warden (who I think is the most like me so his decisions reflect mine), hated Anora and did indeed pressure his friend Alistair (whom he had a crush on, alas) to take the throne alone. It was PURE LUCK that I hardened him; thankfully Theron Mahariel told Alistair to suck it up after meeting his sister LOL

 

My City elf was nicer but also easier to persuade and manipulate; he listened to Eamon and convinced Alistair to marry Anora.

LOL, that dark ritual was a total no brainer for me! Morrigan was like "do this ritual and neither of you will die!" I figured it was foreshadowing that one of us would die because that other old Warden dude would get himself killed before taking the killing blow himself, lol. I guess I'm just good at picking up on the subtle/not-so-subtle hints!

 

Yeeeeeah imagine a situation wherein you're a noob to RPGs so you didn't get your "persuasion" skills up high enough so couldn't persuade Alistair to do the deed. So you go back to Morrigan and she says YOU have to sleep with her

Yeah, I certainly won't be handing you a detective award for figuring out Riordan wasn't going to kill the Archdemon. It'd be a total anti-climax if you finally made it to the top of Fort Drakon and Riordan was like 'Killed the dragon for you, np mate. Trollolololol'.

 

I did think it was suspicious but I never suspected what was to come I actually wasn't really sure this was the climactic end because I'd thought beating Loghain was the point of the game, then when Loghain was killed, the game still continued...? Oh yeah, forgot about those darkspawn... so I wasn't sure that killing the archdemon was actually going to be the end of the game.

 

Ahh that game was so confusing. I did not have good experiences with it lol

At the moment I'm really leaning towards naming my first Inquisitor "Lyra" like that kid from the Golden Compass, simply because the lyrics to the song during the end credits is really appropriate for the Inquisitor's story:

It did!!! It was quite lighter, I was surprised! Especially to hear it from a dwarf LOL The guy just sounds so overtly and melodramatically masculine in the trailers, it makes me roll my eyes and feel like I have to play some bowed up action star to match that voice. Thank god that seems to not be the case!!!

Nope. He just says you were right and that there's no need for you to take it back for his sake/be nice to him to protect him. You were just being honest. My poor girl was so upset with herself.

I think (never tried, but I remember reading it was possible), that if you pick a Certain option (don't know if the first, the second or both times), he won't be hardened. The wikia says something similar.
Though I Could very well be wrong, and the wikia isn't perfect.

Giving myself a new name is part of the point of the experience for me I don't want to be my sh!t self in this awesome world; I wanna be something better!!
