I just hate it when something seems unrealistic. Like the dog appearing in a puff of smoke in DA2, or I've seen clips of SWTOR on Youtube and the person's character suddenly transformed into a little ship. I'm not into stuff like that. So as annoying as the horses were in Skyrim, I liked them because they acted like real horses.

I heard something like horses are only meant to travel across areas you've already been through. So... no enemies? Only wild life maybe? Only areas where you have soldiers patrolling? Definitely no horse combat.

 

That makes me worry about missing banter even more, because if there's going to be banter while out on the road, I imagine it'll have more of a chance of triggering in 'safe' areas.

I see your point. Though for the me my gameplay/lore segregation went out of the window when at Ostagar Cailan died with one smash against the ogre, while my Warden resisted several 'smashings' .
The dragons using you a chewing gum, the bard's and ranger's abilities, or the War Cry/Fus-Ro-Dah didn't help restoring it.

i'm willing to hand wave the summon mount thing. i'm just wondering how we get companions back once we hit a town. do they just appear? to we have to gather them again?

The major problem, I guess, would be when a fight interrupts the travelling. But without knowing the specifics I'm willing to wait and see.

I think Mark Darrah said that fights don't happen when you're on a horse... but I might have imagined that, lol.

Yeah, since Mark said that we won't have mounted combat, I was figuring it kinda doesn't matter where your companions are. I was thinking about it while watching the dwarf demo, that the field of view just shows you and your horse in front. So I could easily imagine my followers on their own horses just behind me, but not in the camera FOV. Anyway, that seemed reasonable as it occurred to me while watching the demo. YMMV.

No, no, it occurred to me last night that it was spoilery... I would've copied and erased it myself but it had a reply from someone and I didn't know what to do about that. By the by, Lola, it's not showing up, so don't worry about it. I'll find the quote from DG again, shouldn't be too hard, that was most of what I really wanted. I can continue my deductions on my own Just baseless speculation to pass the time anyway.
