Ok, I'll tell you how I know his DAI model is based on late 20's to early 30's. It's fine for me to talk about it now since Cameron Lee mentioned it in the interview with MD anyway.

 

So basically, last year when I went to see that first demo in London (the one they showed at PAX Prime a few days later) I met up with Cameron there and because I was already under an NDA I was allowed to ask a bunch of questions. Obviously I can't tell you anything that hasn't already been revealed, but in regards to Cullen's face model I asked him if they'd made Cullen hot and to make sure that they fixed his face if they'd hit him with the ugly stick, which is when he told me about a piece of concept art they'd come up with for Cullen that made him look really old and beat up, I guess kinda like Zaeed from Mass Effect. Of course, this outraged a bunch of his fans working in the BioWare offices, so they had to go back to the artists with some examples of men within Cullen's age group late 20's to mid 30's at a push (his words, not mine), his DA2 model and a bunch of other ideas to make him look how he's supposed to. What we'll see from Cullen in DAI is the result of that.

I think we need a list of the names, and an address where to send cookies!  (shortbread!)

I like older men (I fell in love with Sten the moment I saw him!), but Cullen can't be that old. So I support making him hotter!

I wonder why the artist wanted to age him so much: based on just DAO and DAII stress, or there is something else we don't know about yet?

I love older men though there is generally a point where they hit too old my inquisitor is probably going to have to be older than me this time though, 22 might be a bit young for world domination

There are reasons why I think the artist presumed he was older based on his description, but I can't go into that yet.

 

What I do know is that the different departments all have very different roles to play in the development of the game, so some of them will never even get involved with or even know the storyline to DAI during it's development, despite currently working on the game, lol. So, chances are the artist didn't even know who Cullen was, lol.

No, I think his expression is neutral. His neutral expression in DAII looked more friendly however.

To be honest, even listing all the events he's survived through would probably give the 'grizzled veteran' impression but I'm glad they changed him to be hotter, as shallow as that is.

It just means they can play the game themselves without being too spoiled!

He does have constant worried eyebrows, lol. I like that he still has those worry lines on his forehead too.

Definitely. Just describing the events hes been through from DA:O to DA2 and the fact that he was a Knight Captain makes it sound like he should be in his 40's at the earliest, lol.

I don't know if you guys read/watch SNK but the whole worried eyebrows conversation reminds me of a character Hanji and her assistant Moblit XD he's always worried and exasperated. It'll be hilarious if he was always going 'OMG inquisitor no, no inquisitor you can't do that. Maker no!'

Edit: but of course that's just an exaggeration haha but if he was always just worried I sense some hilarious fan art spawning.

I'm just checking because I'm not entirely sure how much info I missed whilst I was moving back home and people keep talking about only being Dalish.

Yeah, I'm thinking, maybe, the NPC romances won't have any restrictions. I have absolutely no basis for that, mind, but it would be a good way to give everyone a chance to romance the NPCs while the companions are the ones with restrictions here and there. *scratches chin*

Yeah, that was announced a ways back. Like, before separate sexualities were announced. David Gaider said it, I believe. I'll see if I can find a source-link.

Believe I mentioned this before, but once again: if you're an elf, you're Dalish.

I think they said Dalish is the only option. It might have been a tweet from one of the Devs?

I have them too, probably even when I sleep, and my mother, she wants to preserve my beauty for some reason, so she tries to stick a piece of paper to my forehead whenever I come to visit. She believes it will work like botox! Now imagine Leliana doing that to Cullen

He can still be 35, even if they used the pictures of younger men as references. Men don't change much from 25 to 35. I like that age
