So, I was wondering this last night before I went to bed, and I thought I'd throw it out there:

What would you want from an NPC!Cullen romance plot? Besides him being a companion.  :lol:

I want to see Cullen writing at a desk. Or, just, working on whatever it is that is keeping him from traveling with us. I want anxiety and worry, I want "I heard there were Red Templars there" and "Thank the Maker, you're alright". Perhaps a DAO-romanced Leliana could warn him about falling for heroic figures, as they tend to run off and be heroic. Maybe Varric could whine about Cullen being boring, because whatever book he writes about the Inquisitor is going to have have to mention him now. And he didn't even bother mentioning him in his book about Hawke.  :D

For the drama, how about a Virmire-esque choice? Or, more accurate, a Vigil's Keep vs. Amaranthine. Except, this time, Cullen is in the Skyhold, and you might be leaving him to die.

What are your thoughts?

Oh and on a different note...towards the middle of June till about the middle of August, I won't be as active here. I'll be on off and on, but not a lot. Should be having this baby by the second week of July. I've been busy with the twins in their school and after school activities, not to mention my craft classes I teach. I hardly have time for me and me time (art work so on). The rest of my time has been filled with organizing everything baby lol. Not to mention I've been feeling perrrrty crappy the entire time.

Le sigh.

So just in case I'm MIA for a while, you'll know why.

Sounds like your busy life is about to get even busier.  Congrats.  I fondly remember those days.  Enjoy them...it's cliche but true, they go too fast.   ^_^

And I stop being an old fogey....NOW.   :lol:

BioWare is really trolling us Cullenites... THEY DON'T TELL US WHETHER HE'S A COMPANION OR NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

I've been pulling out my hair so hard that I think I'll be bald in a few more days! (BALDQUISITION, AHOY!)

Really? Trolling? Bioware is spoiling us Cullenites...they have never announced LIs this early on in the marketing process, let alone if he is a NPC romance. Focus on the positive guys!

Yes, totally.  If he can't be with us during travel, I have indeed imagined him indicating his worry upon the Inquisitor's return home.  And I def want some keep-based banner in this case as well.  That's what killing me about the idea that he won't be traveling with us...all that delicious Cullen banter we'll be missing.

Exactly! I have already gotten better Cullen news than I had ever expected (My Inquisitor gets to love him?!?! Yes, please!), so anything that comes now is just bonus. :D Now that we know he's in the game, and an LI, I think all the wondering about how and where and why is kinda fun. :D

The toolset in DAO said his voice actor was to play him as an innocent 24-year-old, so, he's around ~35 at this point.

Hard to tell, the toolset from DA:O placed him at 24 back then, but they were only used as guidelines for the VO. Soooo, I guess he could be anywhere between very late 20's to early 30's.

I haven't played ME3 (yet) so I'm not sure how NPC romances work. But I hope there is many cutscenes and changes to talk with him since you don't hear NPC's commenting on everything while you travel and having party banter.. oh gosh I need Cullen to have part banter. If not when traveling maybe at least some comments on the base if he's NPC.. still keeping hope ^^;

So I "found" a letter from whatshisname to whomever about the real story behind Cullen and what went down at Kirkwall. Do I have any writers in this thread that can help me edit it? The Swenglish is strong in this one. (Though you might get angry with me ^^)

Please. :)

So, is there any symbolic reason for the sword up vs. Sword down on the armor? (I am drawing today, and I hadn't realized the direction the sword pointed had changed.)  (I pulled this off the internet, for reference, so I have no idea about how to credit this one. Just know that *I* did not put it together.)

I think it was just a stylistic choice? Possibly.

The graphic designer in me prefers the sword with the point directed downward for the Templars, just because I feel it better symbolises what the order is supposed to be about. Which is defending and protection. I don't know the real symbolism behind sword positions, if there even is any, but the sword with the point directed upward appears more aggressive/forthright to me. *scratches chin*

Edit:

Sort of like the difference between this imagery here:

Spoiler

(And, yes, I did use that one image from GoT that's turned into a meme for this example. :lol: )

I was trained in graphic design (Rather, that was my education, I make jewelry instead. Eff the man, and all that. *snicker*), and that was pretty much my thoughts, too. I'd just wondered if there were lore reasons, but I figure I'll go with DA2 designs as it just looks better, even with the symbolism aside. :)

YES.  All these things!  I really want to see him get some ribbing from companions about his relationship with my Inquisitor.  Having the romance acknowledged by the other characters always makes me happy...I suppose it just makes it feel more real.  Varric's teasing should be especially good.  Also hoping once the romance is in full swing that Cullen starts to use endearments in conversations..."my love," or what have you.  That's always very sweet.

I'd also like to see a Cullen-initiated seduction involving some of that raunchy dialogue Greg Ellis mentioned, but I have a dirty mind. :P Templar in the streets, apostate in the sheets.

Oh, and I'm fine with a little drama (i.e. sending him off to battle and worrying he won't come back or something), but I would LOVE a reasonably stable relationship for once.  Especially with the world coming apart otherwise and all that.

I get being excited, I'm excited too. I'm just a bit tired of seeing people moan about not knowing his status when we've been given so much to be happy about. It's like being given a present, then complaining to that person because they didn't get you exactly what you wanted.

Yea, it feels kind of unsettling, that the tip of sword points out at the throat.

Ooooh! Making jewellery~

That sounds so fun! Hard work, of course, but fun. And you'd get to make such pretty things~ ;u;
