Still think it would be awesome if he'd cosplayed as Cullen for the interview
What if it was meant as a hint for us?!

Snugglebumps???j
I was thinking about "meeting the heroes". Looks like we've met all the heroes last week, and the rest of our Inquisition squad are simply not worthy of being called that
I have no other explanation why the introductions have stopped (although I suspect it's because DAI is less than 4 months from the release, and it's still alpha, and BioWare are working day and night to fix all the bugs and issues).
I think they will continue during the next big event. We'll probably get a new trailer/demo featuring Solas, Cole, and... Varric maybe? I dunno lol

I think they're just spreading out the marketing. There was a big push with E3, but there's some more media events throughout the summer and they need to hold back some stuff for when we get closer to release.I was thinking about "meeting the heroes". Perhaps the rest of the crew will be introduced via trailers using the alternate American pc voices. Say Solas, Cole & Dorian as one group, then the three advisors.

Technically, we still haven't met 'Cole'. Or poor Scribbles, who hasn't even had a decent picture taken yet.
And Dorian hasn't had Big Reveal, either, but I think he might get something closer to GaymerX.

Yeah, I remember they promised something big and awesome for the next event, but I don't remember what event it was going to be, and when (because they all sound the same to me).
Edit for adorkable pre-Uldred Cullen (plus Nea Amell):

Go check her comics, btw! They've been full of Cullen recently ![]()

They also promised us follow Fridays that lasted all of one month!

Well, at least they introduced Vivienne. There's been far too little information revealed about this largely-unknown character. They also promised us follow Fridays that lasted all of one month!

Bwahaha this Fantasy RPG Editor bingo is hilarious for anyone editing DA fanfic... You get a new board every time you refresh. LOL
Alright... R2, you know I love you, but this is really bugging me. I'd really like to just laugh and let it go... but I can't. I don't think you'd do something intentionally hurtful, but I'm not sure you understand what you're laughing at.
*** RANT WARNING***
Badly-written fanfic is always good for a few laughs... but somebody actually wrote that, and if you're editing it, that person is trusting you to improve their work, not to have fun at their expense. I got sporked by my beta-reader six years ago, and it was three years before I even considered writing another word. It was longer than that before I actually did. I still can't update or post something new without doing a google search for every title I've ever written plus "MST," "spork," and "badfic." And I'm not sure I'll ever be able to trust another beta reader.
The problem is that fanfic writers are amateurs. Hold professionals up to whatever standards you like. They're compensated for entertaining you one way or another. It breaks my heart to think that the only compensation amateurs receive is ridicule. And is it really so bad?
Passive voice.... True story: I only learned what that was recently. The school district I went to had policies against placing twins in the same class, and they only had one college prep English class. So, I learned spelling and grammar with vocational students, and they stopped at double negatives. The only way I can identify passive voice is to try to add "by zombies". If I can, it's passive voice, and that's as far as I've gone with it. I can understand why someone would want to avoid it. It adds words, and too much of it makes the prose sound like a trigonometry text book, but excise it completely, and what's left will sound like a corporate year-end self-assessment. Toss in "synergy" a few times, and you could fit the whole thing on Powerpoint.
Inanimate objects and action verbs. Yeeeaaah. Trees stand. They have to; otherwise, they fall... but that probably isn't allowed either. So, if trees aren't allowed to stand or fall, what do they do? Hover midair? Er... that's an action verb, too. Guess we'll have to dispense with the foliage, but the text looks bare with no description, and why would our characters trudge all the way up this hill if there was nothing to look at? Maybe we can talk about the canyon that dominates the skyline. Whoops! That's on the list, too. And we can't talk about the stream, because that's running downhill. Is there anything we can describe, or are we going to have to set the scene without actually using any words? It's possible to do that, of course, but most people call that a painting.
"Whilst" and "amongst." I'm not sure about "amongst," but the former is how they spell "while" in England. That's where our language originally came from, lest anyone forget. Granted, if everything else in the fic uses American spellings and grammar, "while" and "among" should, too, but not everyone who writes fanfic in English is American. Not everyone who writes fanfic in English speaks English as a primary language.
"Nonetheless," "hinterlands," "ichor": these are legitimate words with legitimate uses. The pinhead who wrote that scorecard may not like them, but they are part of the language nonetheless.
Apparently, he also takes exception to commas. I hate to contradict a conscientious, well-informed authority on the subject, but grammar teachers, copy editors, style manuals, and publishers all agree that using them adds legibility. Don't be abrupt. Not all the time.
I notice a lot of examples of "unforgivable" adjective usage, e.g. "fellow," "dread," "sage," etc. The English language is, at its core, a spoken one. Like it or not, we've developed a kind of verbal shorthand for imagery. Yes, one always arrives at an inn with one's fellow travelers on the way to consult the mystical sage about defeating the dread lord, and if anybody ever wrote a sentence that used all of them and was not being sarcastic about it, a chuckle might be in order, but that's no reason to purge the lot of them, nor is it any reason to include them in some ambiguous donkey's drinking game. (How many commas was that?)
Sarcasm aside, fanfiction is prose, and it must be held to certain standards. It must be intelligible, and it must be entertaining. It need not be eligible for any kind of literary prize. If you're editing someone else's work and you find something that's unintentionally laughable, you are doing them a favor if you (gently) point it out to them, preferably with suggestions about how they might improve it without completely rewriting the piece. If they ignore your advice, so be it. Future readers will laugh at them, and they will have earned it (by zombies?). But starting a project with a scorecard on your lap is really kinda cruel.
*** RANT OVER ***
It probably seems as if I'm blowing this way out of proportion, but a lot of established writers don't realize how little it takes to put someone off writing forever. Calling someone out for writing an improbably competent female lead is a lot less damaging than telling someone that the very way she expresses herself is *wrong*.
I think it's a joke aimed at fantasy fiction in general, berelinde. Not fan fiction.
It was suggested as a way to pass time while editing fanfic.
If he did that, I think the world would implode.
It's quite possible. A few months back the BioWare store came out with a leather jacket like the one Commander Shepard wears in Mass Effect 3. This isn't common knowledge (at least I don't think it is) but I got one for Mark Meer (the voice actor for the male Commander Shepard). If you've seen any pics of him recently (DenverCon, for example), you'll see him wearing it.
I'm guessing Mr. Ellis -- as well as PETA -- would not be too jazzed about a lion-fur jacket. Maybe some gifted cosplay designer can craft a replica of the lion's head helmet for him to display at his home?

So what are the other big gamer conventions coming up? I know about Pax Prime but that's it.
There are plenty, but Bioware panels are going to be at GaymerX, San Diego Comic Con, Gamescom, Pax Prime, Montreal Comic Con, Edmonton Expo, and GeekGirlCon.

What no Dragon Con it is Dragon Age, the con has the word Dragon in it. Plus, it is at the tail end of con season, and close to release. You would think that con would be a good place to get out last minute news.
Naw thanks for the info, you guys are great! Here have a Cullen ![]()

I keep thinking that with Cullen being a main character this time around and with one of the devs mentioning that lyrium addiction is going to be showcased, we're going to see it first hand with him. I wonder if we're going to see any negative aspects of that come up, or if the lyrium addiction will be shown through the Red Templars.
Since most of the Templars have broken away from the circle and the Divine, and Cullen doesn't *seem* to be with them, if he has access to lyrium...or if they are going to bring attention to that at all.
