Couple interesting things!
New info from these videos:• Some of the areas in the game are bigger than the Fereldan Hinterland area shown in the demo at E3• The real-time roleplaying system means that you won’t be pulled directly into a fully-staged conversation when having conversations out in the world e.g. talking to a townsperson or someone with a smaller quest. You stay in control of the camera and you can walk away from the conversation like you can do in real life, giving you more agency• Templar addiction to lyrium is addressed in the game• Out in the world you’ll find things like beds, thrones and tapestries that you can put in your castle to customize it. Some of these customization options are purely visual• There are different levels of choice: choices about tone (about defining what your character is to you e.g. saying yes to a quest reluctantly), vs choice with long-term implications that will ripple through the rest of the game and have big impact e.g. potentially choosing who takes the throne of Orlais• The devs have been trying to move past choice to dilemna• Deepest customization of any BioWare game so far• The dragon is twice the size of what they had beforeEmphasis mine, and I am even more excited~This sort of thing will let us build completely different kinds of characters!
The bold area (My bolding) about decorative stuff. *Some* are purely visual, insinuating that some of this stuff will add bonuses of some sort? To our keep, I imagine.
I'm more excited than I should be about being able to decorate my castle. I swear I played Everquest 2 almost exclusively to level a carpenter so that I could decorate all my houses. (And go kill sh!t with the hubby, but that's expected.)
With all the things to do and see and be a part of, already, I have a feeling that I will be playing this game for hundreds of hours over the course of the winter. ![]()
