Ashe's PAX East Recap vid
Goodness, just hearing her say Cullen is a confirmed romance makes me all giddy
I'm with Lola, it's pretty unbelievable that we've come to this point when you look back at how small a role our boy has played in these past two games. I know they wouldn't include a character based solely on the type of fanbase he/she has, but I'd like to think a small part of the developers even remembering who Cullen was can be credited to our patient and positive devotion ![]()
Edit: Dem Sideburns though
Modded Cullens are always fun to look at

Question: Do u prefer siding with mages or templars in the DA2?
I like templar ending more and it's kinda my canon. Though I haven't seen many around DA community who prefers it, everyone is pretty pro-mage ^^; Well nothing against mage rights, freedom for mages and that stuff but I just enjoy siding with templars more. Of cource I can see more Cullen and hear his views on the thing but I also like how you can remain in the Kirkwall afterwards and even become Viscount of KirkwallAll power to Hawke ^^
I think the mage ending has some nice scenes as well like the boat one (it's pretty) but when Orsino does what he does.. it feels futile effort to me to side with mages.
Personally, I don't like either. Actually, I don't like Act 3 at all, which is why I save Legacy and MotA for Act 3. But the Templar ending is ultimately my canon, even though my Hawke was a mage. I justify it my having her wanting a compromise, and believing in one even after Anders' idiocy, and having the public see a mage fighting with the Templars would help them to not see Anders and his actions as a reflection on all mages.

What really? Why? Didn't they already do that a while ago, but it was re-stickied after a while?

Maybe I need to think of it as I'm not mowing down innocent mages, but, that, instead, maybe, these are the blood mages that Meredith was telling me about? I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
Yeah, that's why I couldn't even play my pro-templar Eirik Hawke as siding with the templars at the end there. He believed mages were safest in the Circle, but when Meredith calls for the Rite, his eyes practically bugged open. I mean, his sister was standing right there. Murder every mage in the Circle for no particular reason? I don't think so!
EDIT: Which is to say, I think the pro-templar option should've been written better, because I actually WANTED him to side with the templars!

They get pretty mad when people go off topic, so maybe that's what happened?

Gaider was pissed about all the speculation people were throwing around about that "cutting stuff" joke he made, and people were making mountains out of mole hills.

Well I'm pretty much with this. I don't see either of the choices good and I would want my Hawke just.. knock both Meredith and Orsino out ^^; But since he couldn't do that he had to choose. In any case people are going to die and I think siding with templars is better for Kirkwall so that's kinda my Hawke's justification. Also I wanted him to stay into city rather than having to escape.

So? You tell them to move it to another thread, you delete some comments if you have to, you don't unsticky it!

I always side with the mages. That being said, for a Cullen fan I think the Templar ending got the better end of the deal in terms of cutscenes, simply because if you side with the Templars you get to actively see Cullen's doubts blossom throughout the scenes before the final battle which fills in a few blanks leading up to him turning on Meredith to protect Hawke. It's unfortunate that we don't get to see that on the pro-mage side.

Or I think the narrative could've been cleaned up a bit for the pro-templar ending so that choosing it actually makes sense for a pro-templar Hawke. As it stands, it seems only a mage-hating-KILL-THEM-ALL!-type Hawke would go for it lol (Unless you headcanon, of course, which is totally cool, and which is what I am going to try to do for my current playthrough)

Um, maybe we could not make snide comments about the head writer?
I'm sure he and anyone else had reasons for un-sticky-ing the thread. Hey, it has been warned in the past. I guess perhaps this is a warning we can all take heed of here, to make sure we don't wildly speculate as well. I've tried to add the comment that we're only speculating and not to take it seriously.

I always play Hawke as being Pro-Mage but refusing to pick a side for the entire game, but when the chips are down, ultimately siding with the Mages because s/he feels that they have been pushed to action by Meredith's crackdowns and that they should not be sentenced to death for Anders' actions.
I hope that in Inquisition we're able to help form a bridge between the Mages and Templars and Cullen is a part of that, since when Cullen went to bat for a Mage Hawke, it always gave me a fuzzy feeling that Cullen was willing to risk his life, his career and his reputation to stand up to his boss for someone who proved that Mages can be a force for good.
To the Void with the Templar Order, it's far better to be Pro-Cullen.

I'm not saying his ire wasn't warranted, cause it definitely was. Even I was getting pissed off on his behalf. However, I wish he hadn't taken it out on the poor Twitter thread. ![]()

Indeed. It has been off-topic often in the past. Weren't they scolded for going on about Cullen too long last week? Perhaps having it unstickied will make it less popular, and then when things cool off you can get it re-stickied.
